The Unwavering Heart That Broke novel Chapter 115

She didn’t walk away, even though she really wanted to. Madonna’s words echoed in her mind, so she figured Lance must be here to talk about the divorce.

She stopped right in front of him, her gaze clear and cool. “You didn’t have to come here. Just show up at the courthouse tomorrow.”

Lance looked at her, his deep-set eyes serious. “Nathalie, I’m not getting a divorce.”

Nathalie’s expression went cold. “Lance, can you just admit it? You’re the one who’s wronged me this whole time. So why are you still clinging to this marriage?”

Lance’s voice was calm. “If I’ve wronged you, then let me make it up to you. Which means I absolutely can’t divorce you.”

Nathalie honestly didn’t even know what to say anymore.

What a shameless jerk.

She turned toward Addis, who was not far away with his thermos in hand. “Director, if you see him come in next time, don’t let him through.”

Addis blew on the goji berries floating in his cup. “Can’t stop him, Nathalie. He’s the one funding us.”

Nathalie didn’t even bother responding.

Lance kept watching her. “Whatever you’re worried about, it’s not going to happen.”

She didn’t want to argue anymore. Nathalie just spun around and went back into the recording booth.

But after seeing him, her head was a mess. She couldn’t focus, and every take was even worse than the last. Finally, she gave up on recording for the day and picked up her script, hoping she could at least lose herself in her lines.

Lance didn’t hang around much longer. He left pretty quickly.

Nathalie grabbed her phone and dialed Madonna.

After three rings, the call connected.

“Nathalie,” Madonna said, her voice frosty, “Our arrangement wasn’t meant to end like this. You promised, and I expect you to keep your word, right?”

Nathalie cut her off. “Do you even know what Lance just did? He helped my parents hand over The Blair Group shares to Felice.”

Madonna’s face went even paler. She really hadn’t seen that one coming.

Guess he’s really devoted to Felice.

And if that’s true, what’s the point of refusing a divorce? What, did he think he could have both women at the same time, like some outdated royal?

Gross.

She took a screenshot of Felice’s post and fired it off to Lance. Then she blocked him all over again.

He always insisted there was nothing going on.

Maybe not for him, but other people clearly felt otherwise.

And now, could he really still pretend he didn’t see what was happening?

Her phone buzzed.

Lance saw the new message from Nathalie and immediately opened it.
