A screenshot from someone’s social feed popped up on the screen.
Lance’s brows drew together, his face turning stony. He gripped the wheel and headed straight for Felice’s apartment complex.

The nanny was inside, playing with Jasper.
The moment Jasper spotted Lance, his whole face lit up.
“Lance!”
He sprinted across the room, and Lance immediately lifted him into a big hug.
“Want to come hang out with me?” Lance asked.
“Yes!” Jasper practically beamed, his arms wrapped tight around Lance’s neck. His eyes sparkled with excitement.
With Jasper in his arms, Lance started to leave.
The nanny saw them heading out and automatically called after him. “Lance, where are you taking Jasper?”
Lance glanced back, his voice cool. “Do you honestly think I’d sell him?”
The nanny’s face went red in embarrassment. “N-no, I didn’t mean it that way.”
Lance didn’t say another word. He looked away and walked out.
After hesitating a moment, the nanny decided to call Felice and let her know what had happened.

Lance drove straight to The Adams Group.
He carried Jasper upstairs, right into the executive suite. Jasper couldn’t stop looking around, his curious eyes taking in everything from the plush chairs to the big windows.
“Do you like it here?” Lance asked, watching him.
Jasper nodded. “Yeah, I like it.”
Then he looked up at Lance with all the earnestness in the world. “But I like being with you even more.”
The supervisor barely glanced at her. “Go back to your work.”
Nathalie smirked and went back to her own desk, feeling unexpectedly better after that. She spent some more time reading her script, recorded two more episodes for a show, then packed up her things and left.

Felice headed straight to The Adams Group.
She hurried to the executive suite and nearly burst into tears when she saw Jasper playing quietly on the carpet. Relief washed over her.
She turned to Lance, her eyes full of hurt. “Lance, I already promised you, didn’t I? Why did you have to do this?”
How could he just take her son without saying a word? Jasper was her whole world.
Lance had just finished going through some documents. He looked up, his eyes cold and distant. “Felice, stop doing things that get people confused. You always insisted Nathalie was the one misunderstanding you, and for a long time I actually believed you. But now, I’m not so sure anymore.”
Felice froze. She tried to steady her nerves and quickly explained, “Lance, you’ve got it all wrong. I didn’t do anything.”
Her gaze shifted uneasily. “Did someone tell you something? I swear I didn’t do it. You know I only love Jackson.”
