The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 210

“Camilla!”

Daniel jumped up from his seat, completely stunned, and rushed over to her. Camilla’s hand brushed against Nathalie’s fingertips before dropping limply by her side. Nathalie’s heart tightened painfully. She bent down, almost on instinct, to cradle her mother. “Mom…”

Her voice was shaking so badly she could barely get the word out.

Daniel shouted, his panic unmistakable. “Call an ambulance, now!”

Everything after that became a blur of frantic movement. Camilla was whisked away to the hospital in a rush.

Outside the emergency room, Daniel stood with his back hunched, suddenly looking years older. The lines around his eyes seemed deeper, etched in worry. He glanced at Nathalie and let out a heavy sigh. “Your mother ended up like this because she was so angry. Is this what you wanted?”

Nathalie pressed her lips together, cold and unreadable.

Lance spoke up, his voice calm but firm. “You both refused to compromise. You kept pushing her. Why is it her fault for trying to defend herself?”

Daniel shot him a hard look. “Lance, I’m just now realizing how fake you truly are.”

Turning back to Nathalie, Daniel’s words were harsh. “If you want a divorce, I won’t stand in your way anymore. But he’s cruel, two-faced, and selfish. Being with him will only bring you more pain.”

Lance’s eyes narrowed, his tone frosty. “This really isn’t the time for your accusations.”

It was clear he meant business.

The Blair Group was teetering on the edge. Whether it survived depended entirely on Lance’s decision. If he chose to destroy them, he’d show no mercy.

Daniel was burning with anger, but right now he had to keep it bottled up.

Nathalie stood there, staring at the double doors of the emergency room, her mind a mess of fear and regret. The wait dragged on and the tension made every minute feel endless.

Talking about cutting ties… saying things like that was like sticking a knife right into Camilla’s heart.

Nathalie stared at the floor for a long moment before she finally spoke. “Before I turned ten, I could feel that you both loved me. But after that, it was like all of that disappeared.”

Daniel sighed, tired and hurt. “That’s because you’re too sensitive about everything, Nathalie. Felice has always tried to accommodate you, but have you ever thought about what it’s like for her? She’s an orphan. Living with us hasn’t been easy. She’s always been insecure and delicate. Even when you misunderstood her or treated her badly, she never once complained.”

Nathalie’s hands curled into fists. “That’s not true.”

Daniel gave her a hopeless, exhausted look. “Even now, you still refuse to see things for what they are.”

But Nathalie wouldn’t back down. “She’s putting on an act. She makes herself look pitiful to get your sympathy, and it just makes you hate me even more.”

Daniel turned away, refusing to look at her any longer.
