The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 350

Chapter 350

Freddy set his phone on the coffee table and slid it over to Nathalie. One of the people there was the official photographer who documented the charity event back then. He had a few pictures and one of them shows Felice carrying Lance out from the rubble.

That was the first photo Freddy showed her.

Nathalie’s lashes quivered so hard they almost shut her eyes. All the color drained from her face, disbelief etched in every line.

She took the phone, peered closer, and realized this was the exact same photo Lance had shown her before.

Soit was true?

The person who had saved Lance was Felice. Really Felice.

But then who had she saved?

With a head full of confusion, Nathalie glanced up at Freddy, her voice shaky. But I remember saving him. I’m sure it was me…”

Just hold on,Freddy said softly, trying to calm her when he saw how pale she’d gotten, like her entire world had tilted.

He swiped to the next photo.

This time, the picture showed a much younger Nathalie, struggling to carry a boy out from under a collapsed house. The camera had caught the boy’s profile.

At first glance, he looked a lot like Lance. But as she zoomed in and studied the face, her breath caught.

It wasn’t Lance.

Nathalie’s eyes widened, heart pounding in her chest. She pressed her lips together and squinted at the photo, trying to make out every detail.

Chapter 350

The boy in her arms was passed out, his arms hanging helplessly. She could see herself in the picture, teeth clenched, doing everything she could to help him.

The shot was so clear, the boy’s face was almost right there in front of

her.

Hehe’sNathalie barely got the words out. After a pause, she finally whispered, Jackson?

That’s right.

Freddy slid to the next image. It was a recent photo of Jackson in his school uniform, a trophy in one hand, an easy, confident smile on his lips, eyes shining with warmth and kindness.

I tracked down an old high school photo and compared it. They’re definitely the same person,” Freddy said as he looked straight at her. Nathalie, you did save someone that day, but it wasn’t Lance. You saved Jackson.”

Nathalie stared down at her hands, mind blank. She never would’ve

guessed this. Not in a million years.

Jackson? How?

After all this time of believing she had saved Lancehow was she supposed to react to this? Did all those times she tried to stop Lance from being kind to Felice just make her look ridiculous?

She wondered if, in his eyes, she’d been acting like a child, picking a fight for no reason at all.

But had she really done anything wrong?

He had found out the truth already but chose to keep it from her. He even bribed the people in Hillcrest Village so no one would tell her anything.

He was the one who’d misled her all this time.

Chapter 350

For a moment, everything felt jumbled up inside Nathalie, but then

everything seemed to settle. She wasn’t sure if she was angry or sad or justtired.

What could Lance have been thinking? Why would he go to such lengths to keep all this a secret? And why on earth was Jackson there in Hillcrest Village? She was sure his name wasn’t on any of the lists back then.
