Despite the distance, Nathalie recognized the driver instantly.
It was Lance! He had rammed his car right into them.
Her heart hammered wildly against her ribs, a frantic mix of sheer terror and desperate concern.
Her phone started ringing. In the rearview mirror, she saw Lance holding his phone to his ear.
‘Hello?” she answered, her voice trembling violently.
‘Don’t get out. Lock the doors,” Lance’s deep, steady voice commanded. His absolute calm managed to soothe a fraction of her panic.
‘O–okay,” Nathalie nodded, doing as she was told.
‘You’re going to be fine,” he added softly, right before the line went dead.
The dozen men had already pivoted and were marching toward the wreckage behind her, leaving only a few behind to keep an eye on her
car.
Her own bodyguards were stuck somewhere on the outer perimeter, completely unable to break through the barricade.
Back there, Lance kicked his door open and stepped out into the road.
Nathalie’s breath hitched in her throat.
What was he doing? Didn’t he realize how dangerous this was?!
She desperately wanted to roll down her window and scream at him to get back inside, but a glance at the men looming near her car stopped her. She couldn’t risk them grabbing her the second she cracked the glass.
She fumbled for her phone to call 911, only to realize the call wouldn’t go through. They were using a signal jammer!
Chapter 382
Pale and fraught with agonizing tension, she snapped her gaze back to
the rearview mirror.
Lance only had two bodyguards with him. Three of them against over a dozen armed men.
And the men advancing on him were heavily armed–carrying iron pipes and switchblades.
Nathalie’s fingers curled into tight fists as she watched the horrific scene
unfold.
The sky overhead was oppressively dark, the howling wind sounding almost like a mournful wail.
Lance’s striking, predatory gaze remained icy and devoid of fear as he stared down the advancing mob. It seemed they were sending more men with every attempt.
A dark flicker of amusement crossed his eyes.
Just who exactly was his wife? Her mere existence was clearly a massive threat to someone out there–someone who wanted her erased from the
world.
Too bad for them, he wasn’t about to let that happen.
He didn’t wait for them to make the first move. Lance surged forward, launching a brutal preemptive strike. The enemy braced themselves, and chaos instantly erupted.
Nathalie clamped a hand over her mouth, watching the terrifying brawl in absolute horror.
Every time a steel pipe swung toward Lance, a muffled scream tore from her throat!
But every single time, Lance dodged with lethal precision. He even managed to wrench an iron pipe from one of the attackers‘ hands. Armed, his counterattacks became ferociously relentless.

Chapter 382
The sickening thuds of blunt force impact echoed through the heavy glass of her car, followed by pained grunts. Within minutes, half of the dozen men were writhing on the asphalt
Seeing their comrades fall, the men guarding Nathalie’s car exchanged dark looks and charged into the fray.
Lance was a lethal fighter, but even he couldn’t hold off an army alone
The new reinforcements were fresh and full of adrenaline, while Lance was already exhausted from the initial wave.
‘Lance!”
Nathalie shrieked inside the car. She saw it happen with horrifying clarity–one of the men lunged and buried a switchblade deep into Lance’s side!
Blood immediately stained his shirt! She scrambled for the door handle, desperate to help him, but reason crashed back into her. Getting out now would only make her a liability. She would just get him killed.
What should she do? What could she do?!
He was bleeding, his two bodyguards were severely injured, and there were still at least half a dozen attackers on their feet…
Heavy drops of rain began to fall, quickly intensifying into a torrential downpour that blurred her windshield, obscuring the nightmare outside.
