Nathalie frowned, giving him a deeply complicated look. “If you di move around so much, it wouldn’t have torn.”
“You were the one moving around. I only moved to hold you still,” L replied without missing a beat.
The nurse’s face flushed bright red at his words. She hurriedly pack her medical supplies and threw a final piece of advice over her sho before fleeing.
“And absolutely no strenuous activities!”
Then she rushed out the door.
Nathalie was speechless.
Lance raised an eyebrow at her. “Did you hear that? No strenuous
activities.”
Nathalie chose to ignore him.
Right on cue, her phone rang again. It was Daniel again.
He had already called her that morning.
And now he was calling again.
Lowering her gaze, Nathalie hit the decline button.
Seconds later, Lance’s phone started ringing. He glanced at the screen. “It’s your dad. Should answer it?”
“That’s your business. It has nothing to do with me.”
Lance raised an eyebrow and answered the call, putting it on speaker. “Hiello?”
Daniel’s voice was frantic. “Lance, is Nathalie with you? I can’t find her, and she won’t pick up my calls. Her mother just went into surgery, and

Nathalie’s fingers surled tightly into her palms, her expression free:
over.
Watching her reaction, Lance spoke into the phone. “She isn’t with n and I can’t reach her either.”
“What are we going to do…” Daniel sounded utterly exhausted. “Her mother just wants to see her one last time. Why does she have to be
so…”
He trailed off, but the unspoken resentment toward Nathalie was cry
clear.
Lance kept his tone even. “What happened to Camilla?”
Daniel hesitated, but explained anyway. “She has a heart condition. Sł had an episode a few days ago. She wants to see Nathalie… she’s terrified she won’t survive this, and she wants to apologize to her. But when I could still reach Nathalie before, she absolutely refused to com Sigh…”
“I see,” Lance said calmly. “If I manage to get ahold of her, I’ll pass alon the message.”
“Yes, please. Thank you, Lance.” Daniel’s gratitude was palpable, but the his tone shifted to an even softer, more desperate piton. “Has there beer any news about Felice? Lance, do you have any idea where she is? If you can find her, could you please ask her to come see us too?”
Hearing him talk about Felice, Nathalie let out a silent, bitter scoff.
Lance replied, “I don’t know where she is.”
