Chapter 408
Chapter 408
Hearing her words, Daniel nodded vehemently. “You’re absolutely right, Aunt Winnie. It’s her responsibility to find my real flesh and blood.”
Camilla hesitated. “But how? She’s completely cut ties with us…”
“Camilla.” Daniel sighed heavily, looking down at his wife. “Think about Jeniffer. She
entrusted Felice to us, and we failed her. Now the girl is missing, and it’s all because of Nathalie. Shouldn’t she step up and do something to fix her mess?”
Camilla’s lips trembled, but she couldn’t bring herself to disagree.
In fact, a dark part of her agreed with him completely.
If Nathalie had just been obedient, would Felice have suffered so much?
And now, she had vanished without a trace.
It was the news of Felice’s disappearance that had sent Camilla into this critical state to begin with.
Deep down, she fiercely resented Nathalie.
Earlier, she had desperately tried to mend the bridge because she believed Nathalie was her daughter. But now that the truth was out, there was no reason to hold back her true feelings.
“I will help you,” Winnie offered smoothly. “Since she started this entire disaster, she needs to
be the one to end it.”
Back at The Observatory, Nathalie stayed glued to Adelaide’s side, terrified the old woman would crumble under the weight of her grief.
However, Adelaide only looked deeply exhausted. “Don’t worry about me, Nathalie. I’m just going to lie down for a bit. I’ll be fine after a nap.”
Nathalie nodded. “Okay.”
Stepping out of the bedroom, she spotted Lance sitting on the living room sofa. His strikingly handsome face was pale as he stared down at his phone.
“You can go home now,” Nathalie announced.
Lance looked up, his dark eyes locking onto hers. “I’m waiting for you.”
“I’m not leaving tonight,” Nathalie replied. “I don’t feel comfortable leaving Grandmother here by herself.”
Lance raised an eyebrow. “Then pack her things and bring her to Lumina Grand.”

“Absolutely not.”
Nathalie stepped closer, dropping her voice to a harsh whisper “Grandmother doesn’t know about everything that went down between us. If I bring her back to Lumina Grand, she’s going to start asking questions.”
Lance looked mildly surprised that she had kept the old woman in the dark.
But it was probably for the best. At her age, Adelaide couldn’t afford any more massive
shocks.
“If you’re staying, I’m staying,” Lance declared, leaning back into the sofa. Suddenly, his brow violently twitched, clearly aggravating his wounds.
Nathalie’s brows knitted in annoyance. “What exactly are you playing at?”
“What if I leave and someone comes after you here?” Lance countered smoothly.
Nathalie glared at him. “…Don’t jinx it!”
Lance extended a hand toward her. “Help me to the guest room. My wounds are killing me.”
