Adelaide watched her go with absolute, frosty composure.

Nathalie looked at her, deeply worried.

Adelaide offered a gentle smile. “Don’t worry about me, Nathalie. I’m fine.”

She just hadn’t seen Winnie in decades, and for a split second, she had let her temper flare.

But Nathalie was still anxious. Was she really okay?

The second Camilla laid eyes on Winnie, her tears spilled over. “Why did you come? At your age, with your health… you shouldn’t be rushing all the way out here for me.”

Winnie gripped her hand tightly. “Camilla, how did you get so sick? You were perfectly fine the last time I saw you.”

“Hmph, it’s all because of Nathalie!” Daniel scoffed, his face flushed with anger.

Winnie turned to him. “Daniel, what happened? Tell me everything.”

Daniel let out a heavy sigh. “Nathalie has been at war with Felice. She’s been targeting her non-stop. Then, Felice just vanished. When Camilla found out, her body gave out. Aunt Winnie, I’m so sorry. We failed to protect Felice.”

“What did you say?”

Hearing this, Winnie swayed dangerously on her feet, nearly collapsing.

“Aunt Winnie!”

Camilla struggled to sit up, but Winnie pushed her back down. The older woman’s weathered face twisted in sheer agony. “How could this happen? Felice lost her parents so young, and now she’s missing too? Why is my

life cursed? Why does everyone I love keep getting taken away from me?”

Camilla was swallowed by guilt. “It’s all my fault. Aunt Winnie, I’ll find her. I swear I’ll bring her back.”

Daniel was equally heartbroken, drowning in remorse. “This is entirely Nathalie’s fault. I’ll make her track down Felice, and I’ll make her crawl on her knees to apologize.”

Winnie shook her head. “You can’t do that. She’s your daughter. You can’t put her through that kind of humiliation just for Felice.”

“She’s not our daughter,” Daniel declared coldly. “She went and got a DNA test on her own. She’s not our flesh and blood.”

“What?” Winnie gasped in genuine shock. “How is that possible?”

“Exactly. I spent two decades raising an ungrateful parasite,” Daniel sneered.

Winnie wiped away her tears. “Well, if that’s the truth, then it’s her absolute duty to bring your child back. She leeched off your family’s wealth for over twenty years. She owes you her life.”
