Chapter 439
Chapter 439
The doctor’s words hit Nathalie like a physical strike. Her vision swam, and she swayed violently on her feet.
Lance caught her shoulders just in time, pulling her back against his chest to keep her from collapsing.
His sharp brows drew together in a dark scowl. “Are you certain it’s poison?”
The doctor nodded gravely. “Absolutely certain.”
“How long until the toxicology report is ready?” Lance demanded, his voice dangerously low,
The doctor looked grim. “It’s hard to say. The chemical composition is incredibly complex. It requires extensive screening.”
He sighed, looking at Nathalie with deep sympathy. “Given the patient’s advanced age and the strain of her recent brain tumor removal… I can’t guarantee how long her body will be able to fight this off.”
Nathalie’s nails dug into her own skin. A suffocating wave of despair crashed over her. “Please… you have to find the antidote quickly. I’m begging you…
Tears spilled down her cheeks, born of pure agony.
And then, the agony twisted into blinding, incandescent rage.
Animals.
Camilla was a goddamn monster.
How could she do this? That was her own mother!
Nathalie’s hands balled into trembling fists as she spun around and began marching toward
the exit.
Damaris hurried after her. “Nathalie, where are you going?”
Nathalie’s face was a mask of cold fury. “They poisoned her to force my hand. I’m going to go ask them exactly what they want!”
There was zero doubt in her mind now. Camilla had poisoned her own mother! Whether Winnie had orchestrated it or not, she was definitely involved!
Damaris grabbed her arm. “I’m coming with you.”
“No,” Nathalie snapped. “Go home and rest. Things are going to get messy, and I can’t protect you right now.”
“But I can’t just leave you! What if they try something?” Damaris refused to back down.
Chapter 430
Nathalie felt a brief flicker of warmth through her rage. “Okay, Fine.
Lance stepped up, taking Nathalie’s hand. “Don’t lose your head. I’ll go with you.”
Nathalie stared at his large, warm hand, then looked up at his face. Her lips parted, and she finally spoke, her voice hollow. “Maybe they did it for Felice.”
“Your grandmother’s life is the priority,” Lance said firmly.
For Nathalie, the old woman was her entire world. Even without a blood tie, she was the dn family she had left. If her grandmother died, Nathalie truly would have nothing.
Nathalie’s eyes grew bloodshot, and she didn’t say another word. The three of them left the building and drove straight to The Blair Group’s private hospital.
Nathalie shoved the VIP suite door open without knocking.
