Chapter 445
“Aren’t I a piece of trash?”
Lance threw her a cool glance, his tone casually infuriating.
Damaris choked on her words, but quickly fired back. “Just because
athalie needs you right now doesn’t erase all the garbage things you’ve ne! I won’t use ugly words since there’s a kid right here, but you know actly what kind of person you are!”
Having delivered her piece, she spun around and bolted.
Lance’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “Maybe I should give Lawrence a call.”

all times,” Lance stated.
Hearing this, Jasper’s face lit up, his eyes shining with pure joy.
Nathalie thought about it for a moment but decided not to argue. She sat by the bed and took her grandmother’s dry, frail hand. Feeling the faint warmth of her skin, a crushing wave of sorrow hit her.
It was all her fault.
This was all on her.
If only she had stopped her grandmother from seeking out Camilla, none of this would have happened.
To be poisoned by her own biological daughter… how much heartbreak and despair must her grandmother be feeling?
Nathalie buried her face in her grandmother’s palm, tears streaming down her cheeks uncontrollably.
After a long time, she finally lifted her head, only to see a few tissues being held out to her.
A tiny hand was holding the tissues, its owner looking at her with genuine concern.
Nathalie paused, her long lashes trembling as she accepted the tissues and wiped away her tears.
“She’s going to be okay,” Lance said softly.
His words felt weak and hollow.
Nathalie didn’t respond. She just sat there, staring silently at the unconscious old woman.
As the night dragged on, Nathalie finally spoke. “You should head back. I’m staying here tonight.”
“I’ll stay with you,” Lance replied.
“You can stay with me, but what about him?” Nathalie pointed out.
Chapter 445
Jasper had already fallen fast asleep, slumped against Lance’s thigh.
The little guy simply couldn’t handle staying up late.
Lance looked down, a slight frown touching his face. He gently scooped Jasper up. “I’ll be right back.”
With that, he carried the boy out of the room.

Nathalie curled up on the sofa, completely unable to sleep. She kept wondering why Camilla and Daniel cared so much about Felice, to the point where they didn’t even care if her grandmother lived or died.
What kind of massive secret was hiding beneath all of this?
Just as her thoughts began to spiral, the door opened, and Lance walked back in. He had returned quickly. Seeing her pale face, his brow furrowed. “If you keep pushing yourself like this, your grandmother won’t get better, and you’ll end up collapsing. That’s the last thing she wants to see.”
Nathalie sat up and stared at him intently. “Do you know who Felice’s parents were? What they did? How they died?”
Lance raised an eyebrow. “Is that what you’ve been thinking about?”
Nathalie grew even more serious. “I’ve thought about it a lot. Maybe Felice’s parents died because of Daniel and his family. That’s why they are so protective of her. They’re trying to make up for something.”
