Chapter 447

Lance’s dark eyes softened. He leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to her temple, feeling a profound warmth blooming in his chest.

This was good.

She was letting go of her hostility, slowly accepting him, and finding her way back to him.

Over the past two days, Lawrence had met with over a hundred girls, yet he still couldn’t find the one who had slept with him.

Thoroughly irritated, he called Bagot, demanding to see Lance.

Bagot, who was half-asleep, grumbled into the phone. “Lance is busy. He doesn’t have time for your nonsense. It’s late. Go to sleep.”

Lawrence let out a dark, menacing laugh. “Then I’ll just go find Nathalie. I’m sure that will free up his schedule.”

“Are you out of your mind?!” Bagot threw his covers off and sat up, aggressively running a hand through his messy hair. “So you slept with a girl. Big deal! She left, which means she doesn’t want you to take responsibility. Why are you hunting her down? What, are you a virgin with a purity complex? Does the first person to take your V-card suddenly owe you their life?”

“Yes.”

Lawrence’s tone was dead serious. “She took my first time. She owes

me.”

“What?!”

Bagot couldn’t believe his ears. “Your first time? You’re messing with me, right? A guy with your status and background… you were a virgin?”

In Bagot’s mind, a handsome, dangerously charming guy like Lawrence was the textbook definition of a playboy. Especially considering he came from countries where hooking up was treated as casually as breathing.

He never in a million years expected Lawrence to have been untouched.

“Heh. People who sleep around are disgusting, men and women alike.” Lawrence scoffed coldly. “Let me guess, you’re one of those disgusting people?”

Bagot cursed loudly. “What does my private life have to do with you? Didn’t you want to talk to Lance? I’ll send you his number.”

Without waiting for a reply, he hung up and texted Lance’s contact info

over.

At 2:00 AM, Lance stepped out of the hospital room just as his phone began to vibrate. He pulled it out and saw an unknown number, but it looked familiar.

It was Lawrence’s number. Lance remembered it because he had personally reviewed all of Lawrence’s paperwork when he entered the country.

Why was he calling at this hour?

“Hello?”

Lance answered, his voice icy.

“Mr. Adams, when are you going to deliver on your promise?” Lawrence’s irritated voice crackled through the speaker.

“You met her in a packed club,” Lance replied evenly. “How did you expect me to track her down overnight?”

Lawrence let out a mocking laugh. “Sounds like you’re just not capable enough. If we were overseas…”
