He deliberately leaked his whereabouts, focusing their attention on Felice, which naturally made Lance lower his guard regarding Jasper.

Taking a small child was incredibly easy.

The plan was flawless.

Nathalie sensed the sinister nature of people Her fingers curled inward. “What is his goal in doing this?”

Lance’s tone turned chillingly grim. “I don’t know, but I won’t let him get away with it.”

The car turned around, speeding toward the abandoned chemical plant in

the South District.

An hour later, several cars parked in the open space inside the plant.

The place had shut down years ago but had never been redeveloped. The ground was overgrown with weeds, and trash was scattered across the concrete. Ahead lay rows of factory buildings, giving off a cold, pale glare in the sunlight.

Lance dialed the number from earlier, his voice piercingly cold. “Where are you?”

“Keep walking straight. The innermost building.”

The person hung up again.

Lance grasped Nathalie’s hand. The bodyguards dragged Felice along as they walked inside.

Felice’s face was twisted in terror. “Why did you bring me here? Let me go! Don’t you know murder is illegal?”

She had been restless the entire ride, convinced they brought her here to

kill her.

She couldn’t die yet…

Her business wasn’t finished. She still had to take her son and leave. She absolutely could not die!

However, no one reacted to her yelling.

Felice’s voice went hoarse by the time they entered the massive factory building. Then, she saw Jasper suspended from the ceiling beams.

“Jasper!”

Felice screamed, all color draining from her face, leaving only sheer panic.

She snapped her head toward Lance. “You lunatic! If you have a problem, take it out on me! Don’t touch my son! He’s your older brother’s only blood. How could you do this to him!”

She assumed Lance was the one who hung Jasper up there.

Directly beneath Jasper lay a massive steel plate covered in dense, razor-sharp spikes pointing upward. If the little boy dropped, he would be impaled into a human sieve.

Jasper was trussed up like a package, his eyes swollen from crying. Seeing them, especially Felice, he screamed at the top of his lungs, “Mommy!”

“Jasper, my baby… oh god…” Felice broke down into tears, her curses instantly turning into desperate begging.

“I was wrong! I know I was wrong! I’m willing to go abroad. I’m begging. you, let him go. You can’t do this to him, he’s so little…”

She collapsed to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably at Lance’s feet.

Lance and Nathalie were equally shocked by the scene.
