Chapter 500
Ken glared at the towering bodyguards, his face tightening with frustration, but he forced himself to back down. He shifted his attention back to the battered man suspended in the center of the room.
“The boss only wanted me to ask you one thing,” Ken called out slowly. “Do you still remember the small fishing boat?”
Fabian’s entire body violently flinched. He squeezed his eyes shut, a look of profound resignation washing over his bloody face. “I remember.”
Ken nodded sharply. “Good. The boss knows exactly what kind of situation you’re in. That’s why he sent me to see you.”
The second the words left his mouth, Ken suddenly lunged forward, sprinting straight toward Fabian like a man possessed.
But the bodyguards were already waiting.
Before Ken could even clear half the distance, one of the guards whipped out a taser and drove it hard into Ken’s back. 50,000 volts tore through him instantly. Ken’s body convulsed violently, and he collapsed onto the concrete floor, completely unconscious.
He never even got close to Fabian.
Watching from his restraints, a heavy flash of disappointment crossed Fabian’s eyes before he closed them again, shutting out the world.
A moment later, Lance strolled casually into the room. “If my guess is right, he wasn’t here for a rescue mission. He came to execute you, didn’t he?”
Fabian didn’t say a word.
Standing beside Lance, Nathalie’s hands balled into tight fists. “Who exactly sent you to kill me? Why won’t you just tell the truth?!”
Fabian cracked an eye open to look at her, his voice devoid of life. “If I tell

you, you’ll go after her for revenge. She cannot die.”
You–!”
Nathalie was practically shaking with rage, but there was absolutely nothing she could do to force it out of him.
His loyalty was terrifying. No matter what physical pain they subjected him to, his lips remained sealed.
Lance’s expression was utterly unfazed. He stepped closer, his voice smooth and conversational. “You remember Bagot’s sister, right? Octavia. She’s dedicated her entire life to mastering hypnotherapy. Right now, she’s considered one of the top psychological manipulators in the world. She actually just got back into the country a few days ago, and I’ve invited her over as a guest. Tell me, Fabian… how many rounds of deep-dive hypnosis do you think your mind can survive?”
Fabian’s battered body began to tremble visibly. He shot Lance a look of pure, unadulterated hatred. “I won’t say a damn word!”
Lance ignored the outburst, continuing at the same leisurely pace. “She doesn’t just hypnotize people. She knows exactly how to sever neural pathways and cause permanent psychological damage. For instance, she can lock you in a state where you vividly relive your most agonizing memories, trapping you in a waking nightmare for the rest of your miserable life.”
୮
“Or, better yet, she can simply wipe your memory entirely. She can make you completely forget why you’re even protecting this secret in the first place.”
Lance stared down at the broken man. “You can keep your mouth shut, Fabian. But trust me, I have ways of ripping the answers right out of your head.”
Leaving the threat hanging in the heavy air, Lance took Nathalie’s hand
and led her out of the bleak basement.

Chapter 500
Nathalle was still processing the horrific implications of what she’d just heard. The moment they stepped into the main hall, she looked up at him, wide-eyed “Were you serious about all that?”
“Yes.”
Lance nodded. “But true geniuses are always a bit eccentric. Octavia is completely unpredictable. She won’t agree to help until she finishes whatever personal project she’s working on right now.”
Nathalie had never actually met Octavia; she only knew her through Bagot’s endless complaining. He always mentioned how his sister lived abroad year-round, barely visited home once every few years, and when she did, she vanished just as quickly.
Nathalie couldn’t help but feel a deep curiosity about the elusive woman.
As soon as they returned to the luxurious living room of Lumina Grand, Nathalie’s phone started ringing. She pulled it out and saw Damaris’s name flashing on the screen.
