Chapter 502
Everything happened so quickly, but Damaris’s parents were fully on board with the marriage. In fact, they thought jumping straight to getting the marriage license with Bagot was a brilliant idea.
The wedding date was set swiftly scheduled for the end of the month.
Since it was the beginning of the month, they only had four weeks to
prepare.
This was only after Damaris practically begged both sets of parents to compromise. Otherwise, they would have insisted on a six-month planning period with all the traditional fanfare and endless gifts.
As soon as the date was locked in, Damaris told Nathalie.
It had only been three days since they last saw each other.
Nathalie was too stunned to speak. For some reason, a vague sense of unease crept into her heart.
Was this… really going to be okay?
‘I’ll head over early on the day,” Nathalie promised.
Damaris replied quickly. “Yes, please! Come as early as you can. I have no idea what I’m doing, so I’m going to need your help.”
“I will.”
After hanging up, Nathalie picked up her handgun and resumed her shooting practice.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
She emptied the magazine. The bullets hit the target, but none struck the bullseye.
Lance watched from the sidelines. “You’ve made a lot of progress.”
Nathalie asked, “When is Octavia going to help us?”
Three days had passed. Fabian’s condition was deteriorating by the day, and she wasn’t sure if he could handle the hypnosis much longer.
Lance let out a slow sigh. “She hasn’t sorted out her own issues yet.”
Nathalie frowned beautifully and raised the gun to practice again.
Just then, Lance’s phone rang. He checked the caller ID; it was the Adam
Estate.
Immediately after, a text came in from the boyguard assigned to protec Jasper.
Mr. Adams, Felice James approached the young master’s kindergarten eacher and used the opportunity to take him. We’ve located them and apprehended Felice.]
Lance’s gaze darkened, turning icy.
He hung up the call and looked at Nathalie. “I have to head out.”
Nathalie didn’t acknowledge him, focused entirely on her target.
_ance continued, “Something happened to Jasper. I’m going to pick him up. He might need to live with us for a while.”
Nathalie paused her movements. “You can take him to the Estate.”
t was a flat refusal.
She was not living with Felice’s child.
The boy was innocent, but looking at Jasper would only remind her of Felice.
