Chapter 504

Chapter 504

Lance got into the car, and the driver pulled away.

Instead of going home, Lance took Jasper straight to a child psychologist. After a counseling session to stabilize his emotions, the boy finally fell asleep on the doctor’s couch.

By the time they returned to the Adams Estate, dusk had fallen. Dinner was prepped in the kitchen. Lance handled some business emails and then told the nanny to wake Jasper.

Minutes later, the nanny rushed down the stairs, her face pale with terror. ‘Mr. Adams, something’s wrong! The young master… he’s really sick!”

Lance’s sharp brows knitted together. “What happened? Does he have a fever?”

‘He feels warm, but it looks a lot worse than a fever…” she stammered.

Lance sprinted upstairs to Jasper’s room. The boy was lying in bed, his small face as white as a sheet, his lips an unnatural dark shade, and his breathing dangerously shallow.

The scene was horrifyingly familiar.

It was exactly what his grandmother had looked like when she was poisoned!

Jasper’s symptoms were identical.

Lance’s expression turned lethal. He scooped the boy up and rushed him straight to the hospital.

After a rapid examination, the doctors confirmed his worst fear. Jasper had been poisoned.

“Can we use the antidote from last time?” Lance demanded.

The doctor shook his head. “The symptoms are similar, but the poison’s

chemical structure has been altered. This strain is much more aggressive than the last. The antidote we synthesized before is useless.” Lance’s face darkened into a thunderous scowl. He pulled out his phone and dialed his head bodyguard. “Bring Felice back here immediately!”

Her flight was scheduled to take off in an hour. The bodyguards had been keeping a close eye on her to ensure she didn’t try to run again.

The sudden call caught the guard off guard. “Sir, we’re not sending her abroad anymore?”

Felice, who had been sitting quietly, lifted her head and glanced at the guard upon hearing that.

_ance ordered, “Bring her to the hospital. Now!”

‘Understood.”

When Felice was dragged into the hospital and saw the tiny, unconscious igure in the ICU through the glass, tears streamed down her face.

‘My baby…”

‘You are completely twisted.” Lance stared at her, thoroughly appalled.

She had actually poisoned her own child!

Felice pressed her hands against the glass, crying uncontrollably. Then, she let out a bitter laugh. “If I didn’t do this, would you have ever let me stay by his side? You’re the heartless one, Lance. I saved your life, and this is how you repay me. You’ll get what’s coming to you!”

Even now, she was cursing him.

“Give me the antidote.”

Lance’s dark eyes locked onto hers.
