The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 513

Damaris nodded enthusiastically. "I know, I know."

With a final smile, Mrs. White left the boutique.

Damaris instantly deflated, letting out a breath, though she kept herself somewhat in check with Octavia still standing there.

"Let's grab some food first," Bagot suggested. "You'll need energy for the photoshoot."

"Sounds good," Damaris agreed.

She looped her arm through Nathalie's and asked, "What are you in the mood for, Nathalie?"

"I'm fine with anything," Nathalie replied.

Bagot turned to Octavia. "What about you? You've only been back in the country for a few days. Any cravings?"

Nathalie found herself studying Octavia with quiet curiosity.

This poised, sharp-eyed woman was a master hypnotist. Her gaze was bright and piercing, and Nathalie couldn't help but wonder if she would actually be able to extract the truth from Fabian and Ken.

Octavia blinked and laughed. "Why is everyone looking at me? It's Damaris's big day. What do you want to eat?"

"Hotpot?" Damaris suggested.

"Perfect." Octavia's eyes lit up. After years abroad, nothing sounded better than authentic, fiery hotpot.

Bagot pulled out his phone and made the reservation.

They headed to the restaurant, taking two separate cars. Damaris bypassed Bagot entirely and slipped into the passenger seat of Nathalie's car.

Watching them pull away, Octavia elbowed Bagot, a teasing smirk on her lips. "Your fiancée seems to be avoiding you. Did you do something to piss her off?"

Bagot offered a lazy, relaxed smile. "Why would I do that? Besides, what makes you think she's avoiding me? She's just clingy with her best friend."

"Right. Keep telling yourself that." Octavia climbed into the car, choosing not to poke holes in his obvious front.
