The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 514

Lawrence was hauled off by the police.

Furious and completely out of patience, he dropped Lance's name, and it didn't take long for strings to be pulled on his behalf.

Aaron arrived personally to handle the situation, his demeanor the picture of polite professionalism. "Mr. Lawrence, everything has been cleared up. You're free to go."

Lawrence's bright blue eyes were blazing with unhinged rage. "Where is Lance? I want to see him!"

"Please, follow me," Aaron said smoothly.

At The Adams Group headquarters, Lawrence stormed into the CEO's office, slamming his palms flat against Lance's desk. "Did you find her or not?!"

Lance, spinning a luxury fountain pen between his elegant fingers, looked up with a cool, detached gaze. "Not yet."

"Bullshit!"

Lawrence was seething, struggling to keep his temper in check. "I saw her today! Right where I had the accident. I want the traffic camera footage for that entire stretch of road. Every single angle! I know she was in one of those cars!"

Lance raised an eyebrow. "Are you absolutely certain?"

"I'm certain!"

Lawrence wasn't about to let this slip through his fingers.

Lance hit the intercom and summoned Aaron, relaying the demand.

Aaron nodded crisply. "Mr. Lawrence, if you'll come with me, the footage will be uploaded to a secure terminal shortly."

Lawrence shot Lance a lethal glare. "You better not be playing games with me."

"I want to help you find her just as much as you do," Lance replied smoothly. "Why would I play games?"

"Liar!"

Lawrence didn't believe a single word that came out of his mouth.

He made up his mind right then and there. From now on, he was handling the search himself. It had been nearly a month, and the memory of her was still driving him insane. He was going to find her, no matter what it took.

Once the security footage was loaded, Lawrence hunched over the monitor, analyzing every frame, tracking every single car that passed through the intersection.

Nathalie blinked in surprise. "We... have?"

Octavia chuckled. "It was at your engagement party. I only stayed for a few minutes before taking off, so I don't blame you for not noticing."

She had gone there looking for Jackson.

She had wanted to demand an explanation for why he was marrying Felice James. It had been incredibly sudden—no real wedding, just a quiet dinner with the families.

But the moment she saw Jackson and Felice standing side by side, the fight drained completely out of her.

What was the point of asking? They were already married. Confronting him would have just been pathetic.

Octavia pushed the bitter memory aside, keeping the easy, charming smile firmly on her face.

Nathalie looked genuinely apologetic. "I'm so sorry. It was a chaotic day, I must have missed you."

"Don't worry about it. It was years ago anyway," Octavia said, raising her glass. "Let's just consider this our official introduction. I'm Octavia, and it's a pleasure to finally meet you."
