The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 568

Gasping for air, Bagot sat on the mat, his face looking rather grim.

Nathalie suddenly turned to Lance. "If you fought him, who would win?"

Lance raised an eyebrow. "Want to find out?"

The corner of his mouth curved into a smirk, his eyes dancing with dark amusement.

"Watching comes with a fee."

Nathalie deadpanned and looked away. "Never mind."

Lance chuckled softly.

Bagot piped up from the floor. "Nathalie, you clearly don't know what the boss is capable of. Nicol couldn't lay a finger on him."

Nathalie's eyes widened slightly. She looked at Nicol, only to see him cough awkwardly and say nothing.

Now she was genuinely curious.

Really?

Nicol couldn't beat Lance?

She had seen Lance's ruthless streak when he snapped, but Nicol was built like a tank.

She shifted her gaze back to the man beside her. He had already shrugged off his jacket and was casually unfastening his cuffs.

Her eyes sparkled with anticipation.

Lance stood up. "Let's go. Time to stretch my legs."

Nicol stared at him.

He really, really didn't want to do this.

But catching the eager look on Nathalie's face, he realized he didn't exactly have a choice.

Fine.

A punch like that would flatten his nose permanently.

She squeezed her eyes shut on instinct, then peeled one open just in time to watch.

Instead of a brutal impact, Lance effortlessly slipped past the punch. He seized Nicol's arm, used his momentum to throw him off balance, yanked him back, and with a swift pivot, slammed the massive man onto the mat.

Nathalie was stunned speechless.

She stared with wide eyes, utterly shocked.

"See? What did I tell you?" Bagot cheered from the sidelines, beaming at Nathalie as if showing off a prized possession.

Nathalie sat there in silent amazement. "I expected him to be good, but not that effortless."

Bagot sighed. "The boss hasn't really fought much in the last few years. But back in the day, he'd throw down at the slightest provocation. It's why so many people are terrified of him. Just seeing him is enough to make some guys shake."

He paused and looked at her. "You guys were already together back then, but he was terrified of scaring you off. He went out of his way to hide that side of himself from you. He never brought that kind of business home."

Hearing this, Nathalie's eyelashes fluttered. It was true, she had never known any of that.
