The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 572

"Don't you think it's a little shameless to be making demands right now?"

Nathalie cut her off, her clear eyes filled with icy mockery. "What you should be doing is repenting and begging for my grandmother's forgiveness, not using this as an excuse to ask things of us. You haven't earned that right."

Camilla swayed on her feet, her face draining of whatever color was left. Her lips trembled, but for a long time, no words came out.

She had never expected the old woman to suffer such severe lingering effects. She had originally only wanted to use this opportunity to get Nathalie to find Felice.

But after learning what Felice had done, she was left devastated and disillusioned.

She couldn't understand how the child she had poured her heart and soul into had harbored nothing but thoughts of revenge.

Now, she had absolutely nothing left.

Camilla began to cry pitifully, her sobs echoing in the hall. "Nathalie, I really know I was wrong. I don't expect your forgiveness, but I don't have much time left. I just want to spend my final days by your grandmother's side. Won't you just give me this one chance?"

She wept and pleaded, hoping to see even a sliver of compassion in Nathalie's eyes.

But Nathalie just looked at her with apathy. "It's getting late. You should go."

"Nathalie..."

Camilla choked on her tears, her heartbreak palpable. She took a step forward, but her body suddenly swayed, and the next second, she collapsed onto the floor.

Nathalie instinctively took a half-step forward but forced herself to stop. She looked away and called for security.

"Have her and Daniel escorted out."

"Camilla!"

Seeing her faint, Daniel rushed forward to help her up. He looked up at Nathalie, wanting to say something, but the coldness in her eyes made him freeze. Ultimately, he swallowed his words and left Lumina Grand with the bodyguards.

Sophia's face turned completely ashen. She stared at him in disbelief, never expecting him to be so ruthless!

She looked to Nathalie for help. "Nathalie..."

Lance's sharp brows furrowed. "Why are you looking at her? Do you work for her?"

"I..." Sophia stumbled back a couple of steps, intimidated by the man's cruel yet striking demeanor. She was both scared of him and captivated by him.

But she couldn't leave.

If she left, how would she ever see him again?

She didn't have any other desires in life right now; as long as she could see him every day, she would be satisfied.

Sophia burst into tears, looking at Nathalie with helpless desperation. "Nathalie, I really know I was wrong. I didn't know about all this. If I did, I never would have called her. I'm begging you, please don't send me away..."
