The butler nodded. "Understood."
Nathalie made her way to Grandma's room, taking a seat right beside her. "Grandma, Sophia left. Should I find another girl around her age to keep you company?"
Grandma paused for a few seconds before giving her a reproachful look. "And what about you? What are you so busy with? Why aren't you keeping me company?"
Nathalie fell silent.
She offered an awkward smile. "Of course I can stay with you. I just didn't want you to get sick of looking at my face all day."
Grandma poked her lightly. "Always talking nonsense. How could I ever get sick of you?"
Nathalie laughed. "Then it's settled. I'll be your full-time companion from now on. We'll chat every day, and I'll take you on walks."
"That's more like it." Grandma took a sip of her tea, her eyes narrowing thoughtfully. "Are you still planning to run your studio?"
Nathalie lowered her gaze. "It's on hold for now."
"Then what exactly are you doing?" Grandma studied her with a puzzled expression. "Are you just going to stay home and watch Lance beg for you to take him back?"
Nathalie smiled. "Isn't that nice?"
"No."
Grandma shook her head firmly. "You need your own life, your own career. You can accept his kindness, but you can't completely depend on him. Over time, you'll lose yourself. Letting a man dictate your life is a miserable way to live."
Nathalie's eyes brightened. "You're absolutely right, Grandma. That's exactly how I feel. I just can't dive back into it yet. There are still a few loose ends I need to tie up."
