The Unwavering Heart That Broke (Nathalie and Lance) novel Chapter 648

As soon as he spoke, Lance felt the warmth leave his lips. A slight frown formed beneath his bandages, but it quickly smoothed out.

He reached out his hand, gesturing for her to give him the spoon.

But instead of a spoon, the robotic voice chimed in. "Are you taking advantage of the fact that I can't speak? Why do you have so much nonsense to say?"

"I'm not, Nathalie," Lance immediately protested. "I just..."

Before he could finish, the spoon touched his lips again. The heat of the porridge brought a trace of warmth to the cold metal resting against his mouth.

He froze for a second, then opened his mouth and ate.

He lowered his hand and let her feed him, bite by bite.

At first, the experience had been novel, even pleasant. But if this went on forever... wouldn't he turn into a complete invalid?

He had only lost his sight, not his limbs.

Lance frowned slightly. He needed to have a word with Nathalie about this later.

However, before he could bring it up, Nathalie voiced her own thoughts. "You do need to practice doing things yourself. I can't be by your side all the time."

Lance nodded. "Yeah, I know."

Nathalie didn't type anything else and started eating her own meal.

Watching this unfold, Aaron could hardly believe his eyes.

How long had it been since the boss and Mrs. Adams had sat together so peacefully for a meal?

Lance sighed. "Did you find out what I asked you to look into?"

Bagot pulled up a chair. "The Winter Family keeps a low profile, but you can still dig things up. The Winter siblings are currently fighting over the Ferry Project. If they secure it, the profits will be astronomical, and it will solidify their standing in the Winter Group."

Lance gave a low hum of acknowledgement. "Contact Neely. The two of you figure out our next move."

Bagot nodded. "Alright, I'll call him. Come to think of it, I haven't seen him in years. He's been abroad forever. Is he planning to stay there for the rest of his life?"

"You can ask him yourself," Lance replied.

Bagot scoffed in disgust. "No way. He can come back or not, I don't care. But seriously, what about your eyes? Is there a cure?"

"We won't know until the specialists finish their consultation," Lance said.
