Had he completely lost his mind?!
Were they showering or not?
Was he taking advantage of the fact that she physically couldn’t yell at him to just do whatever he wanted?
This was too much!
Way too much!
“Don’t move.”
Lance pressed his body flush against hers, leaning down until his burni breath fanned against her sensitive ear.
Unable to hold back a second longer, he began trailing hot, open-mouth kisses along her jawline.
A jolt of electricity shot straight through Nathalie’s spine, sending an involuntary tremor through her entire body.
“Mmn…”
A broken, raspy sound slipped from her throat. Mortified by the awful quality of her damaged voice, she bit down hard on her lower lip to silence herself, struggling even harder to break free.
ľ
Her curves ground against his lower abdomen. The friction sent the heavy, musky tension in the room spiraling entirely out of control. Their breathing turned ragged and desperate.
‘Nat…”
Lance groaned her name, his voice drenched in agonizing need.
He wrapped his arms tightly around her waist, dragging her even closer until there wasn’t a millimeter of space left between them. His tone shattered into a plea. “I miss you. I miss you so much. It hurts everywhere.”

He moved down to kiss the crook of her neck, using devastatingly tender precision to coax her into surrendering.
Nathalie was trembling uncontrollably. She squeezed her eyes shut. Suddenly, he spun her around to face him. Blindly tracing her features, his mouth found hers and crashed down in a punishingly deep kiss.
He cupped her face, their breaths mingling in the steamy air, the rushing water drowning out the chaotic sounds of their tangled limbs.
By the time he lifted her off her feet, pressing her bare back against the wall, Nathalie was completely pliant, melting Into his embrace.
“I’ll be gentle. I promise,” he whispered against the skin of her collarbone his voice a dark, seductive rumble.
Nathalie was drenched from head to toe, her body utterly drained of strength. Half-lidded, she stared at the white gauze wrapped around his eyes. Guided by some unexplainable impulse, she leaned forward and kissed his pale lips.
As if electrocuted by her touch, every muscle in Lance’s body went instantly, rigid with desire.
When they finally emerged from the bathroom, they were both thoroughly showered. Even with his eyes bandaged, Lance practically radiated a deeply satisfied, post-coital glow.
Nathalie immediately called for the nurse to inspect Lance’s dressing. Only after confirming the wound hadn’t been compromised did she let out a massive sigh of relief.
She had been terrified he’d tear his stitches.
He said he would be gentle, but he had completely lost control in the aftermath.
He had chanted her name like a prayer, his arms wrapped around her so

tightly it was as if he wanted to fuse their bodies together permanently.
Before leaving, the nurse cleared her throat awkwardly. “His wounds are still fresh. He really needs to… focus on resting.”
With that, the nurse bolted out the door, her face bright red.
She had come to check on them earlier, worried Nathalie might accidentally get his wounds wet while helping him shower. Who could have known she’d end up overhearing something she definitely shouldn’ have?

enough to make anyone weak in the knees.
The nurse didn’t dare let her imagination run wild, but the burning urge to gossip was impossible to suppress. The moment she got back to the station, she spilled everything to her coworker.
“What’s so surprising about that? They’re married, and they’re in a VIP suite. They can do whatever they want,” the coworker replied, completely unfazed.
The nurse’s face was still flushed. “But I’ve never heard a man sound like that! Good Lord, how does a guy even pant like that?”
The coworker gave her a knowing look. “Just find yourself a boyfriend with a nice voice. And let me give you a piece of advice: don’t even think about getting any funny ideas about that patient. That man is thoroughly taken.”
The nurse rolled her eyes. “I obviously know that. I was just appreciating the view! Can’t a girl admire a masterpiece?”
”
Back in the hospital room, the lights were off. The two beds were pushed close together. Nathalie lay with her back to him, her violently racing heart finally starting to settle back into a normal rhythm.
She closed her eyes. Just as the heavy pull of sleep began to drag her under, her phone shattered the silence.
It was her cell phone.
She bolted upright and grabbed it from the nightstand.
Who would be calling her this late?
Nathalie quickly tapped the bedstand to sign
“Give me the phone,” Lance said smoothly. “I’ll talk to her.”
Nathalie hesitated for a split second before answering the call and pressing the phone into Lance’s hand. She sat perfectly still beside him, staring at his profile in pure anxiety.
