Chapter 730
Nathalie leaned in close, acting as though she were about to whisper a massive secret.
Elara’s eyes widened in anticipation. She stared intently at Nathalie’s mouth, practically vibrating with excitement.
Then, Nathalie just gave her a highly exaggerated nod and calmly turned back to face th
room.
Elara was speechless.
She took two deep breaths to compose herself before aggressively whispering. “You kna seriously thought you were about to talk! I was sitting here thinking, wow, I am a medical god. I cured your voice in record time. I was literally planning out my billionaire lifestyle a the world’s most sought-after physician!”
Nathalie couldn’t help but smile, her clear eyes curving into bright crescents. She pulled o her phone and typed.
“You’ll get there. Just promise to let me skip the waitlist when I need an appointment.
Elara scoffed playfully. “Whatever. You just love messing with me.*
She cast another glance toward the entryway.
Lance was still talking with Jasper. A suffocating aura of grief radiated off him, but since h

Elara clicked her tongue. “That absolute bastard is lucky he has a pretty face.”
Nathalie didn’t reply.
That night, Lance spiked a terrifyingly high fever.

Panicking, she bolted out of bed and sprinted down the hall to grab Elara.
A groggy, half-asleep Elara was dragged into the master bedroom. She immediately checked Lance’s pulse and sighed. “I’ll just administer some meds. He’ll be fine.”
Nathalie’s face was pale with panic. She reached for her phone to type out a frantic question. “It’s just physical and emotional exhaustion,” Elara explained smoothly. “He’s internalized way too much stress, and standing out in that freezing cemetery all day pushed his body over the edge.”

She patted Nathalie’s shoulder reassuringly. “Relax. He’s not going to drop dead on my watch.
Nathalie exhaled a shaky breath.
Elara quickly administered an injection, and Lance’s fever began to break almost immediately. The results were undeniable.
Yawning widely, Elara muttered, “Just make sure he takes some basic cold meds/tomon and he’ll be golden.”
With that, she trudged back to her room to sleep.
Nathalie sat on the edge of the bed, staring down at the sleeping man, her emotions an absolute mess.
She had seen the crushing guilt he harbored toward Jackson, and the devastating remors he felt over Jasper.
But she was a victim in this tragedy too. Muted by trauma, she couldn’t offer any absolutio nor could she simply erase her own suffering to coddle him.
The past was etched in stone. Even knowing that Felice orchestrated every agonizing moment didn’t miraculously heal the scars left behind.
