Lance’s icy, unbothered voice cut through the moment. “You sure seem to have a lot of free time on your hands, Freddy, having enough energy to feel heartbroken over another man’s wife.”

Freddy’s expression cooled as he looked over at Lance. “If the person closest to her doesn’t cherish her, then naturally, someone else is going to step in to do it.”

Lance let out a sharp scoff. “Are you hiding under other people’s beds? How the hell do you know if she isn’t cherished?”

Realizing they were about to tear into each other again, Nathalie abruptly stood up. “Go.”

She forced the single word out with absolute authority.

Lance immediately stood up, his tone instantly softening. “I’m right beside you, Nat.”

Freddy rose as well, asking, “What are your plans for the rest of the day, Nathalie? I’m completely free. Wherever you need to go, I can drive you.”

Lance replied coldly, “We have plenty of cars at home. We wouldn’t dare treat you like our chauffeur.”

Freddy kept his tone mild. “Driving myself around feels far more freeing and much less suffocating. Nathalie has such a free, vibrant spirit-I’m sure she hates feeling trapped, right?”

Nathalie just stared.

Elara was absolutely vibrating with excitement. It was a damn tragedy there were no snacks around. If she had known this was going to happen, she would have asked the waiter for a bowl of peanuts.
