The Wife He Dumped, The Queen She Returned As novel Chapter 107

Chloe grabbed her bag, walked out, and handled the discharge paperwork.

She took a cab back to Oceanview Heights, intentionally taking a detour to a pet supply store to buy a bag full of things.

When she arrived downstairs, she happened to run into Quentin Shaw standing under the sycamore tree by the lobby entrance.

Chloe walked over to call out to him. "What a coincidence. What are you doing down here?"

"Walking the dog," Quentin replied plainly.

Chloe finally noticed the tiny, fluffy ball in his arms and paused. "A puppy this small... needs to be walked?"

She hesitated, then added, "It looks like he's asleep."

"Yeah," Quentin reached out and naturally took the plastic bags from her hands. "He was probably waiting too long."

Chloe sheepishly followed him toward the elevator. "I'm sorry, I won't let this happen again."

The elevator doors happened to open, and a child skipped out, crashing straight into Chloe.

"Ah—"

A sharp pain immediately flared across her bruised body, and Chloe gasped.

The parent trailing behind rushed forward to apologize. "I'm so sorry! Are you okay?"

Chloe forced herself to stand straight and waved her hand. "It's fine..."

Before she could finish, Quentin had already taken a massive stride to stand in front of her. "You're injured?"

He was always so meticulously observant. It seemed like nothing could escape his eyes.

Chloe said, "It's just some scrapes and bruises. Nothing serious."

Quentin frowned. "When did you get hurt? What happened?"

As they walked into the elevator, Chloe briefly recounted the events of the previous night.

Thinking of the confidentiality clause, she skipped over the part where Preston had signed the divorce papers.
