The Wife He Dumped, The Queen She Returned As novel Chapter 121

The faint scent of blood instantly spread through the air.

Preston Hayes stiffened, enduring the pain until Chloe Reed finally released her bite.

He reached out, gently gripping her chin, and used his thumb to wipe away the bright red bead of blood on her lip.

"Feel better?"

The next second, he leaned in and kissed her aggressively, deepening the intimacy without a shred of hesitation.

"Get the hell out... Let me go..."

Chloe struggled desperately, but even as their teeth clashed and the metallic taste of blood filled their mouths, Preston showed no sign of stopping.

He deepened the kiss even further, an overwhelming, dominant force that robbed her of every breath.

Until she grew weak, losing all strength to push him away.

He finally let her go, his dark eyes quietly tracing the flush at the corners of her eyes and listening to her erratic breathing.

"Chloe, you've caused enough of a scene. Isn't it time to go home?"

Chloe wiped her mouth fiercely in silence, as if trying to scrub away something vile.

She shoved him away without even looking at him and marched out of the water.

After changing her clothes, she saw Preston's tall frame leaning casually against his car in the distance.

Hearing her footsteps, he looked up and opened the car door.

"I booked a restaurant..."

His sentence was cut short as Chloe walked right past him without sparing him a glance.

"Chloe, what is it now?"

She ignored him, hailed a taxi, and slammed the door shut.

Preston scoffed, a helpless look in his eyes as he got into his Maserati and followed her.

In the taxi, the driver glanced at the rearview mirror and his eyes lit up.

"Is that a Maserati behind us? Man, that's classy! I couldn't afford one in a hundred lifetimes."

But soon, he noticed something was off.

The car shot forward, weaving aggressively past several vehicles before executing a sharp turn into a side street. Within minutes, the Maserati was completely out of sight.

"How was that? Pretty impressive, huh?"

The driver was beaming with pride, but a split second later, his pupils contracted in horror.

A van from the opposite direction was hurtling madly straight toward them!

He yanked the steering wheel, narrowly dodging the collision by inches. Terrified, he rolled down his window and yelled.

"Are you out of your mind? Do you have eyes? If you want to die, go do it yourself, don't drag other people down with you!"

But the van didn't slow down at all. It hit the gas, swerved around, and charged at them again with vicious intent.

"Holy shit!"

The driver screamed, frantically trying to dodge, but it was too late.

Chloe's eyes widened in sheer terror, her instincts kicking in as she ducked down and covered her head.

A deafening crash shattered the air.
