The Wife He Dumped, The Queen She Returned As novel Chapter 132

Suddenly, Jenna's legs gave out, and she nearly collapsed.

Preston caught her by the shoulders just in time. "Are you alright? Are you dizzy again?"

Jenna was about to press herself into his chest when he spoke over her.

"Ken, take Miss Cameron back to the hospital."

"N-no, I'm fine!" Jenna quickly steadied herself. "I'll go with you!"

She followed them to the station in a daze, moving like a walking corpse.

But the moment she saw the man held in the interrogation room, she froze completely.

What was going on?

Just as she thought her eyes were playing tricks on her, the officer pointed at the man.

"That's him. He's been hiding out in the suburbs since the hit-and-run. We finally nabbed him this morning."

Preston's dark, icy gaze locked onto the suspect.

Jenna couldn't hear a single word of what the officer and Preston said next.

She fell into a trance, her mind racing until a ridiculous thought popped into her head.

Was she actually the chosen one?

Why else would fate favor her so much, always bailing her out of impossible situations?

Right then, her phone dinged with a text from an unknown number.

With just one glance, a cold sweat broke out across her back, and her fingertips began to tremble.

[Jenna, how are you going to thank me?]

Forcing down her rising panic, she made an excuse to use the restroom and hurried out of the interrogation room.

She didn't stop until she was locked inside a stall. Once she was sure no one was around, she dialed the unknown number with shaking fingers.

It connected almost immediately.

A man's voice came through the speaker, laced with a chilling, callous amusement.
