Jenna was incredibly flattered and nodded eagerly.

"With such a rare opportunity to ask a question, what kind of garbage is she spouting?"

"Who even is this person? Is this a joke?"

Chloe frowned deeply.

Preston leaned over and whispered to her, "Jenna is probably just a little nervous."

Chloe shot him a sarcastic look, her voice freezing cold.

"Do you really think you need to explain her to me?"

Completely oblivious to the hostile glares and harsh whispers, Jenna was practically bursting with pride and joy.

She knew it! Dr. Sharpe had already memorized her name!

As for the rest of these people murmuring behind her back, they were just jealous of her!

Seeing that Dr. Sharpe hadn't said anything else, Jenna hurriedly added:

"Dr. Sharpe, I'm actually here today representing Vantage Corp! I've always admired you so much, and I truly hope we can have the chance to collaborate in the future!"

Someone nearby shot her a look of utter shock before exchanging a bewildered glance with a colleague, whispering under their breath.

"Oh my god, she's representing Vantage? Are you serious?"

Dr. Sharpe just stared evenly at Jenna. Her eyes behind her glasses were like deep, still water, making it impossible to read her mind.

Jenna gave a dramatic bow and practically vibrated as she sat back down.

She was utterly convinced that she had left a phenomenal impression on Dr. Sharpe and that the assistant position was practically in the bag!

A few more attendees asked their questions, and the symposium soon wrapped up.

Normally, Dr. Sharpe had zero interest in these kinds of social events and rejected them all without a second thought.

But this time, she gave a slight nod and accepted.

Then, she looked over at Chloe. "You're coming with me."

Chloe stared at the two impossible-to-ignore figures standing in the distance. She looked slightly pale, but she nodded.

"Okay."

Dr. Sharpe took in her reaction but said nothing.

When the two of them arrived at the restaurant, they ran straight into Preston and Jenna.

The moment Jenna spotted Chloe, her eyes turned venomous, and she blurted out:

"Chloe, what are you doing here?"
