"Greycliff Port. The Boundless never docks. All its guests fly in via private helicopters."
"My sister, Thea, is on The Boundless."
As he spoke, he plunged back into despair. After all, ordinary people had absolutely zero chance of boarding that ship.
But Chloe didn't hesitate for a second. With a brief "Got it," she walked away without looking back.
...
As soon as Chloe returned to her hotel and washed away the exhaustion, she received a text from Quentin Shaw.
[How's it going?]
Chloe collapsed onto the bed and typed out a reply.
[I got played.]
Before hitting send, she deleted it and re-typed.
[Coming back tomorrow.]
Before the other side could reply, a sudden knock sounded at the door. Belle was back.
She rushed into the room and chugged down half a bottle of water before finally catching her breath.
"I'm dead on my feet..."
Even though it was the dead of winter, Belle's forehead was slick with sweat. Chloe grabbed a tissue to dab her face.
"What happened? You look like you just sprinted a mile."
"Thank God it wasn't a wasted trip!" Belle panted. "I hit the absolute jackpot! If everything goes right, we might be able to throw Jenna straight into prison!"
Chloe looked up. "What did you find?"
Belle grinned. "The details will depend on how things go tonight, but I'm fully confident!"
She turned to Chloe. "Oh right, how did your thing go? Did you meet the guy?"
"I guess you could say that," Chloe murmured.
Belle looked confused. "Huh? So did you see him or not? Do you need my help? I know a few people in Kandaria."
Leo's eyes immediately locked onto her. "Hi, Ms. Reed. Belle has been talking about you all day, but I didn't think she was actually understating it. You're drop-dead gorgeous."
Chloe offered a polite smile.
Leo continued, "The Boundless never docks. It just drifts around the Pacific year-round. I was worried about how we'd get onboard, but now it's simple."
"You figured something out?" Belle asked.
Leo looked at Chloe and smiled.
Chloe looked back at him and smiled in return.
Twenty minutes later.
Even after boarding the helicopter, Leo was still having trouble processing everything, stealing careful glances at Chloe every few seconds.
The Boundless was always actively recruiting beautiful young servers.
Before Chloe even had to say a word, he felt immensely ashamed of his initial plan.
He never expected that the stunning woman sitting in front of him would not only be beautiful, but also pass the rigorous financial verification of The Boundless at such a young age, casually securing them seats on the VIP helicopter.
