The Wife He Dumped, The Queen She Returned As novel Chapter 71

Chloe held up her phone, recording undeniable video evidence of Jeremiah and his men desecrating the grave. She secured the consent form they had forced Mr. Lynch to fingerprint, then carefully hoisted the unconscious older man onto her back and staggered toward the main road.

She flagged down a passing car. Before the driver could even utter a refusal, she blurted out, "I'll pay you whatever you want. Please, just get us to the hospital as fast as you can."

Seeing her desperation, the driver immediately unlocked the doors.

Fortunately, they made it in time. The doctors managed to stabilize Mr. Lynch, keeping him under observation.

With the immediate crisis handled, the adrenaline wore off, and the crushing weight of grief and agony finally slammed into Chloe.

Choking back a sob, she sat in the hospital corridor and sent a quick text to Quentin Shaw: Do you know any reliable lawyers in the area?

He replied almost instantly: What happened?

Tears splattered against her phone screen. Before she could type out a response, her phone buzzed with an incoming call from him.

She frantically wiped her face and answered.

Quentin's voice was sharp and focused. "Where are you right now?"

She tried to swallow the lump in her throat, but her voice still trembled. "I'm not in Sterling Bay. You don't have to trouble yourself. It's just a personal matter."

Quentin didn't leave any room for arguments. His tone was absolute steel. "Send me your location. I'm bringing a lawyer down there to collect evidence right now."

He hung up before she could protest.

...

When Ken arrived at the property with a delivery crew and the new appliances, his eyes nearly bulged out of his head.

He shoved his car door open and scrambled out, shouting furiously, "What the hell are you doing?! Stop right now!"

The coffin had been brutally ripped from the earth and dumped haphazardly in front of the mud-brick house. The once-peaceful burial plot was completely decimated.

Jeremiah had anticipated his arrival. He didn't even flinch, feigning absolute innocence. "Is there a problem?"
