The Wife He Dumped, The Queen She Returned As novel Chapter 80

"Yeah! Let's get her!"

The mob surged forward again. Just then, a freezing voice cut through the chaos.

"Let's see who dares."

A man stepped through the disorganized crowd. Tall and imposing in a black trench coat, Quentin's broad shoulders and sharp features radiated a predatory dominance. No one dared meet his glacial gaze. He walked straight to Chloe, his six-foot-three frame completely shielding her.

"Are you okay?"

Chloe looked at him, momentarily stunned. "I'm fine. I thought you went back to the hotel to rest..."

Someone in the mob shouted. "What are you waiting for? It's just two of them! We've got the numbers, don't be scared!"

The moment the words left his mouth, the synchronized thud of footsteps echoed through the night. Everyone turned to see Gabriel marching toward them, flanked by over a dozen heavily built bodyguards.

"Ms. Reed, don't worry! We'd never leave you here alone!"

The sheer presence of the security detail froze the mob in their tracks. The bodyguards halted in unison, turning their attention to Quentin with a respectful nod. "Mr. Shaw."

Gabriel, having barely struck a dramatic pose, groaned inwardly. "Could you have let me finish my moment?"

Staring at the wall of muscle, panic rippled through the mob.

"Why do they have so many enforcers? You said there were only three of them!"
