The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 246

After finishing the discussion about the surgery, Nikita smiled. "This has to be Yulen's doing, right? He really is a wonderful boy. He always goes above and beyond for you."

Winona had initially wanted to clarify that this had absolutely nothing to do with Yulen, but considering Nikita's fragile health, she swallowed the words.

She decided she would wait until the surgery was over and Nikita was fully recovered before breaking the news of their split.

That afternoon, Yulen's name lit up her phone.

"Winona, I'm so sorry. I couldn't get Dr. Dawson to fly out here. But I did manage to secure another highly renowned specialist, Dr. Gallagher. He's equally experienced in liver transplants and has already agreed to take Nikita's case."

Winona's voice was perfectly calm. "There's no need. Mr. Harper has already arranged for Dr. Dawson."

Yulen was stunned.

Even with all his resources, he couldn't meet Dr. Dawson's outrageous demands. How on earth had Jericho Harper managed it?

He couldn't help but ask, "Did Mr. Harper really hand over a patent to Dr. Dawson just to help you?"

Winona frowned in confusion. "What do you mean?"

Realizing she was entirely in the dark, Yulen explained, "Dr. Dawson's condition for coming to Riverton was acquiring a specific patented technology from Locke Group. For the sake of the company's interests, I couldn't agree to it. If Mr. Harper managed to hire him, he must have met that demand. Winona, this is a massive debt. Are you sure you want to accept a favor of this magnitude from him? I really think you should listen to me and let Dr. Gallagher perform the surgery instead."

Winona hadn't expected Mr. Harper to make such a colossal sacrifice just to help her.

"I need to speak with Mr. Harper. I'm hanging up," she told Yulen abruptly.

She immediately dialed Jericho.

Hearing that she already knew about the patent, Jericho hesitated. He debated whether he should tell her that it was actually Stefan who had surrendered the patent for her. But he had given Stefan his word, so he bit his tongue.

"Winona, please don't let it weigh on you. As long as your grandmother recovers, I'm happy for you."

Winona's eyes grew hot with tears. "Mr. Harper, thank you. From now on, if you ever need anything at all, I will do everything in my power to help you."
