The delivery driver arrived with the cake, and Winona went downstairs to grab it.
Waiting by the elevators, she bumped right into Zack and the others.
Zack, who had looked utterly bored just seconds ago, instantly lit up. "Winona! What a coincidence! Are you eating here too?"
Camille and Sylvan both noticed Winona.
Treating the two executives like thin air, Winona focused on Zack. "Yeah, having dinner with my family."
Zack spotted the box in her hands. "A family birthday?"
Winona smiled. "Yes, my cousin's birthday."
Never one to miss an opportunity, Zack smoothly invited himself. "Birthdays are better with more people! I'll come over and help sing happy birthday."
Thinking it sounded nice, Winona nodded and agreed.
Watching their easy familiarity, Sylvan sneered in disgust.
This Winona really knew how to throw herself at any man she crossed paths with.
Camille, on the other hand, was already scheming: Since Winona was this close to Zack, maybe she could pay Winona a premium to convince him to join Locke Group.
For the right price, Winona would surely agree.
Zack followed Winona into the private dining room.
Her grandmother, sitting in her wheelchair, looked curiously at the young, unfamiliar man Winona had brought in. Helena and Greta also looked up from their menus.
Before Winona could say a word, Zack introduced himself with a bright smile. "Hello, I'm Zack, Winona's junior colleague. I happened to be eating here tonight, ran into her, and decided to crash your party to help celebrate the birthday!"
Winona looked confused. "Didn't you just finish eating?"
Zack laughed. "I was just grabbing a bite with some strangers, and I'm a bit shy, so I barely ate a thing. I'm starving."
Looking at his overflowing charisma, Winona highly doubted he had a shy bone in his body. Still, she didn't call him out and placed the cake on the table.
Zack jumped right in to help set up the candles.
Since he was Winona's colleague, Nikita and Helena warmly welcomed him, insisting he order whatever he liked.
Zack was great at working a room, and the quiet private dining room quickly filled with laughter and energy.
Watching her grandmother, aunt, and cousin having such a good time, Winona felt bringing Zack along had been a great decision.
