Before going to sleep, Winona received a photo from Tallulah. In it, Tallulah was lying on a hospital bed, a figure seated beside her. The man's profile was sharp and elegant, exuding an air of lazy nobility.
But a minute later, the photo was deleted.
Tallulah followed up with a disingenuous apology: "Sorry, Winona, I sent that to the wrong person."
But Winona had already taken a screenshot.
She didn't reply. She simply turned off her phone and lay down to rest.

The next day, Yulen sent a text saying that Willow wasn't feeling well and he'd be staying at the family estate for a few days to take care of her.
Winona knew instantly it was an excuse to be with Tallulah, and she found it almost funny.
At the office, Winona immersed herself in her work.
Unexpectedly, she received a message from Micah asking to meet and discuss work, accompanied by a picture of his abs.
Disgusted, Winona deleted the photo and didn't respond.
The Locke Group was planning to switch its raw material supplier. Unsure of the best choice, Conrad invited her to the factory warehouse to inspect the new samples. Winona agreed and left the office with him.
By the time Winona finally left the factory, it was already eight that evening. She went back to her own apartment, and just as she walked in, she got a text from Violet.
Violet reminded her to rest well after work and to visit more often, promising to have delicious food ready for her.
The message softened something in Winona, and she quickly texted her thanks.
Having barely eaten all day, Winona's stomach was protesting. She decided to cook herself a plate of pasta. She had stocked the apartment with plenty of groceries and essentials after moving in, so the fridge was full.
She had barely taken two bites of her pasta when her phone rang. It was Paige.
"Winona, you need to come to the hospital."
Yulen’s eyes darted around for a moment in panic before he regained his composure. He studied Winona's face and asked, "Do you know what happened? About the accident?"
Winona nodded. "You and Tallulah were coming back from Springs Haven and hit a tree."
"I wasn't there alone with her," Yulen explained instinctively. "Declan and the others were with us. We were meeting a client."
He immediately realized the contradiction, since he had just told Winona he was at the family estate taking care of Willow.
Winona said nothing. She already knew everything. Pushing for more would only force him to spin more lies.
Besides, she didn't care who he was with anymore. All she wanted was her compensation so she could leave him for good.
"Are you thirsty? Do you want some water?" She poured a glass and handed it to him.
Yulen frowned, unsettled by her calm, indifferent demeanor.
