The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 330

Nikita was determined to set her granddaughter back on the right path.

Desperate to break through Yulen's web of lies, Winona firmly shook her head. "Grandma, absolutely nothing happened between me and Mr. Goddard. And for the record, I wasn't the one who cheated. Yulen did."

Nikita let out a heavy, disappointed sigh. "I want to believe you, sweetheart. Truly, I do. But I can see with my own two eyes how deeply that boy loves you. And frankly, the way you've been acting toward him lately is what looks suspicious to me."

Before Winona could argue, Nikita stood up, her tone leaving no room for debate. "You are going to stay right here in this house and focus on recovering. No going out, and absolutely no sneaking off to see this Mr. Goddard. You and Yulen have years of history together. As long as you drop this stubborn attitude, you two can be just as happy as you used to be."

"Grandma, please, listen to me," Winona pleaded, her brow furrowing in distress. "Nothing Yulen told you is true—"

"Are you still refusing to admit you're wrong?!" Nikita snapped, her patience gone. "If you refuse to listen to me, then don't bother calling me your grandmother anymore."

Winona stared at her, a crushing wave of sheer helplessness washing over her.

A gentle knock sounded at the door, followed by Yulen's perfectly modulated voice. "Grandma, Winona. Lunch is ready."

"We'll be right out," Nikita called back.

She patted Winona's hand, her gaze softening slightly but her resolve firm. "Listen to me. Just settle down and live a good life with your husband."

Realizing that any further explanation would be totally useless right now, Winona bit her tongue.

At the dining table, a lavish spread was laid out, consisting almost entirely of Winona's favorite dishes.

Playing the role of the devoted saint, Yulen meticulously instructed the chef to cut all the meat and vegetables into bite-sized pieces so Winona could easily eat with just a spoon.

Watching him fuss over her, Nikita felt even more certain that her granddaughter was being a complete fool for throwing this away.

Winona, knowing exactly how well Yulen could play the crowd, let out a silent, cynical scoff. She picked up her spoon and ate in total silence.
