Seeing her so brimming with confidence, Yulen pondered for a moment before finally giving in. "Alright."
Camille was furious. "I strongly object! Yulen, this project is going to require a massive cash burn in the later stages. We cannot afford a single mistake. Think about what you're doing."
Yulen waved off her concerns. "Camille, just trust her on this. Tallulah might be young, but her professional capabilities are solid."
Seeing that her brother was entirely deaf to reason, Camille let out a humorless laugh. She didn't bother arguing further. In her head, she was already calculating her next move: Tallulah was due to give birth soon anyway. She would just secretly hire a heavy-hitting R&D Director to replace her when the time came. The project would survive.
Tallulah, meanwhile, was ecstatic. This was her perfect chance to prove to Yulen that she was every bit as brilliant as Winona. She was going to crush this.

Winona received the 8 million dollar consulting fee from Camille, replied with a brief "Received," and promptly ignored any further messages.
She had a document that needed to be routed to Stefan Goddard, so she swung by Samantha's office to drop it off.
As she walked in, she spotted a very familiar potted orchid sitting on Samantha's desk. "Samantha, did you buy that?"
Samantha grinned. "You seriously don't recognize it? You bought it! Mr. Goddard was terrified it would die, so he specifically ordered me to keep it alive and healthy."
Winona blinked in shock. "I thought it got thrown out?"
Sensing a golden opportunity to clear the air, Samantha quickly explained, "It didn't! Well, Mr. Goddard instantly regretted it and made me go back and retrieve it."
Winona stood there, frozen.
Back at her desk, she pulled out her phone and stared at Stefan's profile picture on her messaging app, hesitating over whether to text him.
Eventually, she closed the app and opened her airline application instead, scrolling through the weekend flights.
Flights to the capital were heavily booked, and only first-class seats were left. Taking a deep breath, Winona bought a ticket.
Saturday morning at 8:00 AM, she started packing a weekender bag for the capital.
