The Wife He Forgot to Marry (Winona and Yule) novel Chapter 575

Tallulah called Winona five times in a row. Every single call went to voicemail.

Blinded by fury, she forced herself up, tearing at the surgical stitches in her abdomen. A blinding, agonizing pain ripped through her, draining the last bit of color from her already hollow face.

The night nurse—a cheaper private hire her mother-in-law had found through an agency—rushed over and shoved her back down against the pillows.

"Ma'am, you just had major surgery! You cannot be moving around like that. Lie back down."

Without waiting for permission, the nurse snatched Tallulah's phone from her hand. "And no screen time. You'll strain your eyes, and I'm not dealing with that."

It took several minutes for the searing pain in Tallulah's stomach to subside to a dull, throbbing ache. The room felt suffocatingly hot. "Turn the AC down," she rasped.

"Absolutely not," the nurse shot back, not even looking up from the TikTok videos blaring from her own phone. "You're in postpartum recovery. Cold air is the worst thing for you right now."

When Tallulah gave birth to her first son, she had spent an entire month in a six-star private wellness retreat where every nurse catered to her every whim. No one would have ever dared speak to her like this.

But this time was different. Willow blamed her for losing the baby and had absolutely no intention of paying for a luxury recovery center. Instead, she had hired a mid-tier in-home nurse for the month, and the drop in service quality was glaring.

Tallulah's face flushed with anger. The heat in the room was unbearable, and her throat was completely parched. She ordered the nurse to get her a glass of ice water, but the woman just kept scrolling, pretending she hadn't heard a word.

Tallulah's hands shook with rage. The second Yulen got here, she was going to have this disrespectful bitch fired.

She barely slept. By the time morning rolled around, Yulen finally walked through the door.

Tallulah, exhausted, in pain, and utterly miserable, opened her mouth to start crying to him, but Yulen cut her off before she could even make a sound.

He didn't even look at her. He just turned to the nurse and said, "Wait outside. I need to speak to my wife."

The nurse, who had been deaf and blind to Tallulah's suffering for the last twelve hours, suddenly sprang up with remarkable efficiency and hurried out of the room.

Tallulah felt a flash of vindication. Finally, someone was going to take care of her. She looked up at Yulen with wide, tear-filled eyes.

He had checked the hotel's security cameras himself, but the angle had been obscured. Because he wanted to believe Winona was a monster, he had chosen to believe Tallulah.

And Tallulah had made a fool out of him.

The disgust in his eyes was like a physical knife to her chest.

Something inside Tallulah finally snapped. Years of repressed resentment, paranoia, and sheer exhaustion violently exploded out of her.

"You want to know what happened to me, Yulen?!" she shrieked, her voice tearing at her throat. "Look in the mirror! You married me, but you never stopped obsessing over Winona! I nearly bled to death giving birth to your son, and how many times did you even visit me in the hospital? Your mother and sister treated me like absolute garbage from day one, and you never once stood up for me!

"I wanted to go back to work, but you forced me to stay home! I live in a mansion, but I have to beg your family for every dollar I spend! You have millions, but you treat me like a gold-digging parasite!

"I destroyed my body to give you this second baby! I took handfuls of hormones, let them stick me with endless needles! My hair is falling out in clumps, my health is ruined, and have you ever shown me an ounce of sympathy?! No! Because you're too busy crying over Winona!"
