Tuesday night. Giselle arrived at her birthday bash looking radiant and dressed to the nines. A cast on her arm did nothing to dull her glittering presence.
Sylvan had spared no expense. The jewelry draped around her neck alone was worth millions. The event mirrored a royal gala, complete with an internationally renowned live band. Every guest in attendance was dripping in old money or massive influence. Rich socialites flocked to her side, feeding her ego until she was practically floating.
Willow dragged her three daughters and a very reluctant Yulen Locke into the ballroom. Taking in the extravagant decor and the sea of elites from Riverton and the capital, she nudged her son.
"See? I told you she's basically royalty. Look at this party! Not a single heiress in Riverton could pull this off. Wynne Walden is giving her all her shares, and she'll inherit half of Sylvan Scully's empire. Whoever marries her is marrying a literal gold mine."
Yulen's ears were bleeding from hearing the same speech all the way here. His three sisters had already secured strategic marriages for the Locke Group. As the heir, his job was to expand the business, not sacrifice his own marriage for a woman with no morals.
When he didn't respond, Willow scoffed. "I'm only thinking of your future! If we have her wealth backing us, the company will have an impenetrable safety net."
Camille chimed in, fully agreeing with their mother. "The HSV-121 project has put a massive strain on our cash flow. Securing her as an asset wouldn't be the worst idea. You should at least try talking to her."
Yulen had already engaged in some very private talks with Giselle. Physically, they were compatible, but emotionally, there was absolute zero. He despised her modern, open-relationship ideology. There was no way in hell he was ever going to date her.
