Cheryl complains to Stefan: "Those are all excuses, Stefan. My mother's grave is barely cold, and Daisy Falconer is already taking her place. If word gets out, our family will be a laughingstock. Don't you care about the Goddard family's reputation?"
Stefan replies coldly: "It only ruins Uncle Orion's reputation. And like I said, you need to take this up with your father, not me. I'm his nephew; I can't manage his personal life. If he screws up at work, I can penalize him as the CEO of the Goddard Group. But if he wants to marry his mistress, that's none of my business."
Cheryl stares at him, angry and anxious. "Are you really my family, Stefan? Why won't you stand by my side?"
Stefan checks the time. "It's late. I'll have Waldo drop you off at a nearby hotel. You can stay the night and head back to the capital tomorrow."
Cheryl reluctantly leaves. "I'll be back tomorrow, Stefan."
After she leaves, Stefan sighs. No one stood by him during the family's internal power struggles, but the moment they have a problem, they expect the CEO to fix it. That's why he doesn't like living at the Goddard estate.
Winona finishes her late-night snack and asks, "Stefan, is Uncle Orion really going to marry Daisy?"
Stefan nods. "His mind is made up. He said if Grandma doesn't agree within three months, he'll move out and marry her anyway."
Winona: "Does he know about all the things she's done?"
"Even if he did, it wouldn't change anything. It doesn't affect him directly, and he still benefits. Of course he'll play dumb. If Cheryl comes looking for you, just ignore her. Don't open the door."
