The only person in the entire Goddard family capable of keeping Margaret firmly in check was Violet.
When they called the matriarch and explained the situation, Violet was furious. She had intentionally loaded her daughter-in-law, Margaret Shepherd, with responsibilities just to keep her busy, yet the woman still found the time to sneak down to Riverton to harass Winona and Stefan.
"If you two get caught up with work again, I will send Linda down to take care of Audrey," Violet declared firmly. "Margaret is terrified of Linda. I guarantee she won't dare pull any stunts with her around."
And just like that, the issue was resolved.
Whenever Wynne needed to travel to the Capital, Linda would step in to manage the household. True to Violet's word, once Margaret found out Linda was stationed there, she never dared to show her face again.

On Wednesday evening, Winona met up with Rhea Sheffield for dinner.
Rhea had been traveling relentlessly for work over the past year, so getting together was a rare treat. Taking in Winona's radiant glow and perfectly toned figure, Rhea smiled in admiration.
"They say you only find out if a man is a saint or a monster after you have a baby. Looks like Stefan passed the test with flying colors."
Winona stirred her drink, smiling wryly. "He really is an amazing father. It's just his mother... she's constantly finding new ways to create chaos for us."
"Well, no family is perfect," Rhea sighed. "At least you don't live in the Capital. She can't breathe down your neck every single day. The real nightmares are the marriages where you're forced to live under the same roof as the mother-in-law."
