Finding her rhythm, she wandered aimlessly around the hospital courtyard.

Suddenly, two familiar figures caught her eye.

"Sebastian, let's fly out tonight. I made reservations at this amazing restaurant. You're going to love it."

It was Gwen.

Sebastian's voice drifted over.

"Focus on your treatment right now. If you want to take a trip later, I'll go with you."

At the mention of her treatment, a fleeting shadow crossed Gwen's eyes before she smiled brilliantly. "Okay. Whatever you say, Sebastian."

The two of them were walking shoulder to shoulder, heading right toward Serena.

Serena snapped out of her daze.

She tried to duck out of sight, but she was too late.

"Serena?"

They had spotted her.

Gwen practically trotted over, beaming with feigned warmth.

"It really is you! I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me."

Then, glancing meaningfully at Sebastian, she pivoted her tone, her words dripping with fake innocence.

"Did you come all the way out here to find Sebastian? The Lindon Estate is so far from here. How did you even know where to look?"

"Is it an emergency?"

The Lindon Estate was the home she shared with Sebastian.
