Serena paused.

Then, her voice rang out with absolute certainty.

"Never."

A flicker of genuine shock crossed Sebastian's face, instantly replaced by fiery rage.

"Since when did you get so brave? Do you think being pregnant means you can trap me?"

"Let me spell it out for you. I don't give a damn about the thing growing inside you!"

The baby was an accident.

For three years of marriage, Sebastian had kept himself entirely faithful to the memory of Gwen.

He had never once touched Serena.

That drunken night had actually been Sebastian's own calculated scheme; he had an ulterior motive for getting wasted.

He just never expected his careful plotting would backfire, resulting in Serena getting knocked up with that man's child!

The bitter irony was that Serena wholeheartedly believed the baby was his.

Once she found out she was pregnant, she became even more desperately attached to him.

It infuriated Sebastian, though part of him couldn't bring himself to just throw her out because of the kid.

After all, his pathetic little follower was undeniably sweet and attentive. Even though he didn't love her and treated her like garbage, she never held a grudge. Her world had always revolved entirely around him.

The sound cracked sharply through the air.

Both Sebastian and Gwen stood utterly paralyzed.

Serena was shaking with unadulterated fury.

He could humiliate her all he wanted.

But she absolutely would not let him verbally abuse her unborn child.

She protectively covered her lower stomach.

She was so incredibly thin that her stomach remained perfectly flat, bearing no outward sign of the life within:

With that, Serena marched away without a backward glance.

Sebastian was left standing completely frozen, a furious red handprint blooming across his cheek as he stared in absolute shock at her retreating figure.

She actually had the nerve to strike him!
