Still half-asleep, Serena reacted instinctively.

"Who said you could come in here? Get out."

They had slept in separate rooms since the day they got married. Sebastian hadn't set foot in her bedroom in three years.

Her blatant rejection only fueled his drunken rage.

He lunged forward, gripping her shoulders tightly, and snarled,

"You've really grown a spine, haven't you? First you slap me, and now you have the nerve to kick me out?"

"Did you forget how you used to beg me to come to your bed, and I wouldn't even bother?"

"Since the day you stalked me at the hospital, you've been missing for a solid week! You've never done this before. Tell me, where the hell have you been?"

After Serena had slapped him that day, Sebastian had actually done some thinking.
