Chapter 847 She’s Literally Turning Into Me

The Returned Heiress Who Never Fit Im
up;
The only contact Reese had ever had with Abraham was when he came to pick Stella Reese might’ve caught a glimpse of him then–nothing more.
A woman who’d barely exchanged a word with Abraham had now gone under the knife to look like Stella, copying her taste, her habits, even her way of dressing.
What kind of twisted stunt is this… Stella frowned.
Abraham narrowed his eyes. “Why? Did someone actually say something to you?”
“She’s Mrs. Tom–Mona’s–daughter,” Stella said. “And three years ago, we never really got to the bottom of what happened with Kelly.”
Three
years ago, Kelly had suddenly appeared before her, claiming she would marry Abraham.
She’d even used threats to corner Stella.
Back then, her mother had gone completely out of contact; everything had been pushing Stella to leave Falvaria.
It had all happened so suddenly–so chaotically.
Stella hadn’t dared risk her mother’s safety; in the end, she’d fled Falvaria amid the turmoil.
That road hadn’t been an easy one either.
She’d nearly died along the way…
Later, after the Dawson family’s scandal settled, Abraham had turned his wrath on the Tom family. They’d been crushed; Kelly had gone to prison.
On the surface, the Tom family looked respectable now, but in truth, they were already hollowed out.
Most of their assets were in Derrick’s hands, and even the little that remained–he clearly had no intention of sparing it.
All these years, Mona hadn’t bothered to visit Kelly once.
Even when she came to plead for leniency last time, it had been halfhearted–empty words.
Now, learning that Reese was Mona’s daughter, Stella finally understood, the Tom family’s silence these past years hadn’t been surrender. It was the calm before a counterattack.

“What?” Abraham’s tone darkened.

“She had plastic surgery in Hamlin; she’s even imitating my interests and wardrobe.”
Stella told him everything in full.
She would investigate quietly on her own, but she never hid things from Abraham.

She picked up the photos from the coffee table and handed them to him. “See for yourself.”
When Abraham looked at Reese in the photo…
Even though the distance made it hard to see her features clearly, the resemblance was undeniable.
The aura, the bearing–everything mirrored Stella.
If he hadn’t known better, he might’ve thought it was her.
In an instant, fury burned through him; his eyes went sharp, dangerous.
“So this is their counterattack, huh,” he muttered, voice low and chilling.
Clearly, he’d reached the same conclusion she had–this was the Tom family’s retaliation.
They’d been quiet for years; now it made sense.
Sending Reese for cosmetic surgery–who could believe that wasn’t part of some deeper plot?
Stella handed him her phone next. “This is Mrs. Tom’s travel record. She’s been going in and out of Hamlin constantly these past few years.”
“I looked through it–she’s been especially diligent these last two.”
The last two years…
That would’ve been while Stella was still gone. Reese must’ve been undergoing surgery all that
time.
A transformation like that couldn’t be done overnight; it had to be adjusted bit by bit.
They’d probably thought Stella would never return–or worse, that she wouldn’t live to.
Or maybe… they had been looking for her all along, even trying to have her killed.
Too bad for them, Stella had hidden well.

Using the Keene and Reed families as cover, she’d dodged danger again and again; and with Abraham’s fury aimed squarely at the Toms back then, Mona hadn’t had the time to finish her
off.
On the surface, Stella and Abraham had seemed separated, yet the two had secretly worked in perfect sync.
Still…
Now that Stella was back, and judging from the photos of Reese leaving the clinic, the procedures were ongoing.
Their plan had changed–but it hadn’t been abandoned.
When Stella met Abraham’s eyes, his were already burning with anger.
“Melissa analyzed it earlier,” Stella said. “She thinks they’ll make their move when I give birth.”
“Whether that’s true or not, I don’t know; this all came out of nowhere, and we’re still piecing it together. I’ve already told Clint to have people investigate quietly.”
Abraham raised a brow. “Melissa?”
Stella nodded. “Yeah.”
He looked briefly taken aback.
“She kept saying that pregnancy test thing wasn’t her doing,” Stella continued. “But with how Mom’s been acting lately, the Bogden family’s taken a beating–and Melissa’s been catching hell at home too.”
“So this was her trade–off–help me in exchange for Mom backing off the Bogdens.”
Abraham listened quietly, eyes shadowed with thought. Melissa…
After a moment, he said, “Leave this to me. I’ll have Abel handle it.”
“Derrick probably doesn’t know about any of this yet,” Stella added.
Everyone in Falvaria knew–Derrick and that stepmother of his had never gotten along.
