The Wrong Girl and the Wronged Girl (Stella and Ethan) novel Chapter 887

If they were going by Marie’s usual temperament, she would never have agreed to go back and live with the Tom family.

The Tom family... not just Marie, even Derrick himself didn’t want to live there.

Every single person in that house was unbearable; even the air felt suffocating when they breathed it. And now Marie was the one suggesting we move back?

“Well, technically we should, but—”

Marie cut him off immediately. “No buts!”

“You’re seriously going back to live there?”

“Of course I am. Do I look like someone who’s joking?”

Derrick fell silent. No, she really didn’t. Marie never joked about things like that.

Still... as awful as those people were, Marie moving into the Tom family home meant one thing — those people were in for hell.

And another thing...

Reese and Mona. With Marie’s explosive temper, is she really planning to live there, or is she going back to settle the score?

Derrick couldn’t help feeling suspicious.

He glanced at Abraham, whose expression darkened the moment the Tom family was mentioned.

He slid the plate of shrimp toward Stella.

“I’ve had enough,” Stella said softly. “I can’t eat anymore.”

She had already eaten plenty tonight.

Ever since they’d learned she was carrying triplets, Abraham had been constantly worried she wasn’t getting enough nutrition.

Especially now that her belly was growing fast but the rest of her body stayed so slender — it made Abraham think she must be malnourished.

Marie, still in her first trimester and battling nausea, had no appetite at all. After forcing down a few bites, she left with Derrick for the Tom family.

As soon as they were gone, Abraham turned to Stella. “What were you and your sister talking about just now?”

“She said she’s going to kill Mona and Reese. I just didn’t want them dying too easily, that’s all.”

When it came to the Tom family, aside from Derrick, whose misunderstanding had finally been cleared up, the entire bunch was detestable.

Holt, Mona, Kelly, Gary... and now Reese.

“Reese probably wasn’t trying to replace me,” Stella said.

Abraham raised a brow. “Oh?”

“She’s shorter than me—by at least four inches. There’s no way she could pull it off.”

With that many witnesses around, anyone with working eyes would’ve seen the difference in their height immediately.

“Marie probably wants to use this as an excuse to deal with Gary and Mona together.”

At that, Abraham nodded in understanding.

He tilted her chin up and kissed her hard.

There he goes again. These days, he didn’t even bother to hide it — kissing and holding her whenever he pleased.

“Now that Marie’s back, she’ll be there for the wedding too, right?”

Stella had been worried Marie wouldn’t make it to their wedding.

But now, that concern was gone.

She nodded. “Yeah.”

Between them, the topic of Reese barely stirred any tension.

To them, people like Reese and Mona were nothing but mosquitoes — small, irritating, and disposable; if they were ever in a bad mood, they could crush them without a second thought.

Marie and Derrick soon arrived back at the Tom residence.

Holt, Gary, and Mona were all home. When they saw Derrick and Marie walk in unexpectedly, the three exchanged wary glances — each harboring their own thoughts.

Even though Derrick was Holt’s biological son, his mother’s mysterious death had left father and son in a strained relationship ever since.
