The Year I Was the Other Woman To Myself novel Chapter 605

Penelope never imagined Donald would go to such lengths for her, not only giving her all his assets but also divorcing Judy beforehand to prevent any complications.

Of course, Penelope wasn't the only one shocked; the Bishops, especially Yvonne, were even more stunned and couldn't accept it.

“Mom! What is going on?”

Judy’s voice was already hoarse from crying. “It was your father… he tricked me. He said we were just signing some papers, that it wasn't a real divorce, so I… I agreed.”

Yvonne still couldn't believe it. “You’re saying Dad tricked you into a divorce?”

“It seems that way now.”

“How could Dad… for her…” Yvonne pointed at Penelope, her teeth clenched in hatred. “Tell me, what did you do to my father? Why would he do this to us!”

Penelope pressed her fingers to her forehead. The properties, the shares—she really didn’t need any of it, especially since it came from the Bishop family. She found it all tainted.

“Henry, if I don’t want these things, can the previous gift agreement be revoked?” Penelope asked, looking at the lawyer.

Henry was stunned. “Ms. Laurier, this is a gift worth hundreds of millions!”

“Even though I’m the recipient, shouldn’t my acceptance be based on full knowledge and consent?”

Those share transfer agreements had been slipped in with the property deeds; she had basically been tricked into signing them.

Seeing Penelope’s serious expression, Henry realized she genuinely didn't want the assets.

“Uh, I still advise you to think this over carefully, Ms. Laurier. Or perhaps consider it from Mr. Bishop's perspective. Why was he so determined to give you everything he owned?”

Penelope pursed her lips. That was a good question. Why give it all to her?

Out of guilt?

But Yvonne was Donald’s most beloved daughter. Even if he felt guilty toward Penelope, it didn't make sense for him to leave Yvonne with absolutely nothing.

And then there was Donald's car accident. There were still too many unanswered questions.

With that thought, Penelope stood up. “Why should I give you what my father gave me?”

“I’m his daughter…”

“The Bishop family doesn’t recognize you!”

“Hans, my father’s hand moved just now! He still has a chance to wake up!”

“I don’t believe a word you say!”

Penelope clenched her fists. If Hans was insistent, she wouldn't be able to stop him.

“If my father dies because you refuse the surgery, I will immediately sell all the shares I hold!”

“You dare!”

“Not only will I sell them, I’ll sell them to the other shareholders of the Bishop Group!”

Hans pointed a trembling finger at Penelope, looking like he wanted to kill her.
