Mia blinked her big eyes. "Natalie is going to have a baby? Then I'll get to play with her baby!"

She then grabbed Adrian's arm. "We can all play together!"

Cecily placed a piece of shrimp on both children's plates. "Such sweet kids. I really hope my future great-grandchild will be just as perfectly behaved and adorable as you two."

She glanced meaningfully at Natalie and Hassan as she spoke.

In doing so, Cecily finally noticed that Natalie and Hassan were barely making eye contact.

In the past, even when Hassan acted cold and distant, Natalie would always stare at him with stars in her eyes.

Now, Natalie kept her gaze lowered, not looking at him even once.

Cecily thought to herself that the two of them really needed a baby to anchor the marriage. Otherwise, if things kept dragging on, that woman surnamed Sutton might actually find a way to wedge herself in.

She absolutely refused to let a divorced woman with baggage marry her grandson. Natalie might be nothing more than a pretty face with no real ambition, but at least she was respectable, clean-sheeted, and beautiful.

After dinner, Cecily insisted that Hassan and Natalie accompany her for a walk.

During the stroll, she asked what time it was on multiple occasions.

Natalie started to feel that something was off about her behavior.

"It's getting late. You two should go back and rest," Cecily said after checking the time one final time.

Natalie and Hassan walked into their bedroom one after the other.

He shrugged off his jacket, grabbed a bathrobe, and headed straight into the bathroom.

Natalie sat on the small sofa, using her phone to fill out the application form for the Research and Technology Expo. It was quite complicated.

Halfway through, she suddenly felt uncomfortably hot. She turned down the air conditioning and sprawled out on the sofa to continue.

Until a shadow fell over her.

She had no idea when Hassan had walked up behind her, but he was looking right at her form. Her heart instantly skipped a beat.

Defeated, she walked to the edge of the bed.

Hassan turned off his tablet and set it on the nightstand.

Without a word, she pulled the covers up and slept as close to the edge as possible. But the scent of the man behind her still drifted over. She had no idea what was wrong with her tonight, but her body felt hyper-sensitive, and she couldn't summon a single ounce of sleepiness.

After a while, she noticed the man's breathing behind her growing heavier as well.

And whether it was just her imagination or not, the heat radiating against her back felt increasingly intense.

She rolled over, instantly meeting his dark, heavy gaze. The moonlight spilling through the window illuminated the sharp contours of his face.

Her heart stuttered. Just as she was about to turn back around, his hand snared her, pulling her flush against him.

That was when she finally realized exactly what was wrong with her body. She was unbearably sensitive. The mere friction of his hand pressing against her stomach through her pajamas sent a violent shiver down her spine, igniting a frustrating itch deep in her core.

Suddenly, the words Cecily had said in the kitchen echoed in her mind.
