He noticed Adrian's little habit and reminded him, "Don't bite your fork..."
As soon as the words left his mouth, he lowered his eyes and said quietly, "Never mind."
It was just a harmless little habit.
She had far more of them herself.
Adrian had already taken the fork out of his mouth and muttered, "If we don't eat soon, I'm not just going to bite the fork, I'm going to eat the silverware."
Hassan froze for a moment, suddenly visualizing a certain someone's shameless, cheeky expression.
He said flatly, "Eat. In the future, when it's just the two of us, you don't have to wait for me to start."
He thought about it and decided that wasn't the best way to raise a kid. "Provided I haven't started eating yet, that is."
Adrian let out a soft "oh" and began to eat.
"How is it?" Hassan asked.
Adrian chewed, his large, dark eyes looking up at him. Once he swallowed, he gave a straightforward review: "Not as good as the chef's."
After a brief silence, the man suddenly smiled, his lips curling into an amused smirk as he let out a soft chuckle.
Because in his memory, whenever he cooked, she would always hold her plate, beaming as she said, "Oh my, we have a master chef at home! How does Chef Carlson make everything taste so good?"
Adrian could tell he wasn't satisfied with the response and thought about it.
He thought for a long time but couldn't come up with anything comforting to say.
It wasn't his strong suit, so he simply lowered his head and focused on his meal.
Faye came out carrying several small food containers, looking a bit confused. "Sir, why did you portion these out? Are you sending them to someone?"
The containers were quite small, looking like a young woman's portion.
"Put them in the fridge," he said dismissively.
