...

She was still thinking about it when she returned to Sycamore Quays.

As soon as she walked in, she found both Cecily and Hassan at home.

Her gaze lingered on Hassan for a moment.

She couldn't help but wonder if he knew that Gardenia had bought the robot instead of making it herself.

Seeing her return, Cecily smiled and said, "Natalie, Hassan and his friends are having a get-together tonight. You should go with them and have some fun."

Hassan looked up and clarified, "It's not just a casual hangout with friends. It's a celebration." He paused for a beat before adding, "The robot Gardenia is entering in the exhibition is finished. They're throwing a party for her and wanted to check it out."

Natalie froze. If it had been any regular gathering, she absolutely wouldn't have gone.

But remembering what Marvin Ford had said in the lab, she spoke up. "Alright, I'll go."

She wanted to see it for herself.

Hearing her agree, a smile spread across Cecily's face. "Since you two are husband and wife, you should make appearances at these kinds of public events together. It's a good way to shut down any unnecessary people and their wandering eyes."

Natalie didn't bother offering a response to that.

After dinner, she left with Hassan.

The venue was Kingswood City's premier private venue, the Aurea Club. It was strictly members-only, closed to the public, and required an internal referral. A membership card cost millions, with a mandatory minimum annual spend of two million dollars.

And inside this extravagant club, they had rented out an entire floor just to celebrate for Gardenia.

When Natalie arrived, the boisterous crowd at the center of the room fell dead silent. Their hostility was blatant; only Marvin Ford seemed to treat her differently than before.

Jacob Holt was still the one who hated her the most. The moment he saw her, his face darkened. He scowled and muttered, "Why did Hassan bring this woman here?"

Gardenia was also a bit surprised, but she always played the part of the gracious host and wouldn't make a fuss over something like this. "They're married," she said smoothly. "It's perfectly normal for them to come together."

Jacob sneered. "Gardenia, she put you in the hospital, and you're still defending her. This is your celebration party, it should be all about you."

Hassan looked at Natalie.

In the past, she absolutely would have gotten into a screaming match with Jacob, then retreated to Hassan's side, looking for comfort and validation.

But now, facing Jacob's slander, she couldn't care less.

As Hassan walked over, the person sitting next to Gardenia immediately scrambled to give up their seat, allowing him to sit down.

Sitting side-by-side under the bright lights, they genuinely looked like a perfectly matched couple.

But Natalie had no energy for the gut-wrenching scene; her gaze kept drifting back to the robot.

She felt a deep ache in her chest, yet she was utterly powerless.

The moment Nancy sold it, she had already braced herself for the reality that her creation would bear someone else's name.

Telling Nancy about this would only bring her unnecessary pain.
