The Years Between Signing and Seeing novel Chapter 191

“Get someone in here! Aaron!”

Jamie’s voice echoed down the hallway as he strode forward.

Medical staff rushed out from a nearby room. Jamie issued a cold command, “She’s bleeding. Save her. Make sure she’s okay.”

“Quick, to the operating room.”

Through Suzie’s fading vision, all she could see were figures in white coats rushing around. She moved her lips, whispering, “My babies… my babies…”

In the hallway, Aaron reported respectfully, “Mr. Baylor, Richard mentioned before he left that he received an anonymous letter at his villa, informing him about your divorce from Ms. Sterling. He also said he came today because he was notified, not because Ms. Sterling asked him to.”

Jamie stared at the light above the operating room, his brow furrowed. After a moment of thought, he instructed, “Hand the villa’s security footage over to the police. Also, look into exactly when Oliver returned to the country, and check if his parents’ business has any dealings with the Baylor Group.”

“Are you suggesting he came back with ulterior motives?” Aaron asked.

Jamie remained silent.

Aaron then added, “There’s something else I’m not sure if I should report.”

He, too, had been shaken by those pictures. It was unmistakably Suzie. It was no wonder Jamie was furious; any man would be.

Jamie’s expression darkened, his lips pressed into a tight line as if swallowing his rage. After a moment of silence, he suddenly commanded, “Have someone enlarge the photos. Look for a brand label on the bedding and trace it.”

“Yes, sir. I’ll get on it right away. I’ll also arrange for more men to come and stay with you,” Aaron replied. His gaze shifted between Jamie and the operating room. He couldn’t help but add, “Mr. Baylor, when you were carrying Ms. Sterling… your arm… it’s still bleeding. You should get it treated. I spoke with some obstetricians, and they said minor bleeding during pregnancy can be related to stress or physical condition. Ms. Sterling will be fine. You should—”

“Just do your job!” Jamie cut him off sharply.

“Yes, sir…”
